    Huh? What did I do?

For the record I don't think the Hall of Fame is the right spot for posts like...

I vote that one of each of the following threads goes in.

When to fold aces or a/k preflop
What is legal or illegal poker in Ontario (ie: bar games for free, home games with no rake for money)
When you need to claim your poker winnings on your taxes.
    Which chips/cards are the best.
Any thing that BBC_Z has more than three posts in that doesn't have to do with finance.
... unless something cool went down in the thread. Just because a topic keeps popping up every 6 months or so doesn't make it legendary.

  • You're right- a HOF would be much better being full of <11 post-158 view> stunted threads from two weeks ago and/or whatever Jeff likes. ;)

I'm also going to guess that the 'tournament schedule' already included doesn't contain a flame war, but rather is more of a FAQ- and it has been deemed HOF worthy...but I could be wrong.

My point isn't that all of my suggestions should be taken, it is that 'this song is ruined' is the only one that was openly liked by someone else thus far, so by either standard I've met the criteria.

Passive-aggressive doesn't suit you Jeff. Would you kindly explain to me why my suggestions have been ignored WITHOUT insulting mine or the forums intelligence by using some lame excuse like "oh I just didn't see your 4 posts"
  • Please don't answer 'I'm afraid to post the gay thread', please don't answer 'I'm afraid to move the gay thread', pretty PLEASE don't answer 'I'm afraid to move the gay thread.'
  • Hey Guys,

The HoF thing was supposed to be something fun... not turn into a war. What I have suggested is we can have permanent redirects so the show up in both sections and nothing is lost from the individual sections.

Kristy, most of the posts that are in there were moved by me, so I am sorry if you find this to be cluttering up the section. If you have any suggestions for criteria of what should go in I am all ears... it was kind of a split second decision to add it and I guess I kinda figured we would figure it out on the fly. As for your suggestion for the tournament schedule, I had moved that originally when you asked, so I am not sure why you said it wasn't there.

When I get back from vacation we will figure something out and if you have any specific threads I can move them when I get back.

PS. I am off to Italy for the day ;) Tough life :)

    All the best,

    Graham
  • I agree with Kristy, put the threads that actually meant something to the forum in the HoF.

I'm talking about Magi's 'What If' thread, Zithals tournament blinds sked, all aces's DVD thread etc.

You can put comedic posts in there, but only sparingly.

Oh and my first Vegas Trip Report deserves to be in there too.

I think a Hall of Fame is a decent idea. And so is a FAQ section. And it's pretty clear which threads belong in which, imo.

    Hall of Fame:
    Where's Haddon?
    xxcindyxx
    Awesome trip reports
-nothing newer than 6 months, this part should be obvious

    FAQ:
    Blind schedule theory
    When to fold AA preflop
    Poker taxes
    Best playing cards

    In the trash:
    spam

  • The greatest horror movie of all time was Prom Night (2008 )

    Oh wait....

That was just the most recent.

That's not criteria for greatest movie.. relevancy and test-of-time is....

Sorry for being so randomly off topic

    Really.

    No point there

    Not a subtle commentary

  • Oh, and have 1 suggestions thread in each HoF and FAQ stickied at the top. Then you don't need this thread anymore. Don't add any suggestions until they've been seconded and thirded, if not more.

  • I'll definitely vote for some of the one's BBC listed above.

Anything Chronicling his wars with Magi and GTA is good readin for anyone with a brain and a sense of humour.
  • Ok Guys, post links to all the threads here, and when I get back I'll put a link to the threads in the HoF.
  • So...

Now it's just the "Hall of randomly referenced threads"?

    Sorry, I didn't see your 4 posts....
There is intelligence around here????? Who woulda thought...

On a serious side, it seems like everyone has a different idea in what should be in the HOF. Several have had some good ideas of what type of thread should get in and what shouldn't. As Graham suggested we'll continue to link what ppl think are good threads here and then when he gets back, come up with some sort of defining criteria. OK?

And Kristy, if you could be a little more open in your comments instead of being so obtuse maybe we could figure out what you want... :)

Wow, took everything in my power not to reply in that thread and bring it back from the dead.

    THanks for sharing it Kristy.

but just incase you somehow DID miss it the first time, this one came complete with a quote of my post.

I realize that a bluff is the only way you think you can win, (hearts and minds) but I'd rather you just tell us why you are being so passive-aggressive.
  • How about a Hall of Infamy and a Hall of Fame?

I actually think the original post is an important social statement and generated a tremendous amount of interesting and thought provoking conversations. I would never have seen it if it hadn't been for the quote, and it's a thread I think that still could generate some conversation for future forumers. To me that makes the quintessential HoF post.
  • I would like to nominate THIS thread for the HOF...

    Haha...

Ever get the feeling the Mario is dead and Kristy is just trying to keep up the illusion so she can keep collecting OSAP cheques?

The old dopelganger mario with less facial hair theory? So passe. More likely she's holding him hostage for the OSAP cheque. I have a feeling he's still alive.....but posting under extreme duress. I mean can't you picture him in a room tied to a chair with all the windows boarded up?
  • If they could re-order it. There was a problem with the forum clock in the middle of it. I think it was 11, then 23-31..then 1- not including repeats.

Unfortunately not much actual debate/discussion happened there, it is more of an example for the pressure on women in poker. Which I've learned now is even greater than any of us realize.

I clairvoyently nominate a thread I'm planning called "Trip report: Ontario Divorce Court"
I'm finished the process now and I just need a few days to collect my thoughts and use what I've learned to it's best end for other poker players.

My dear Father has been three times.

He's sort of a collector when it comes to marriages.
