I am prepared to tip anyone who provides services for me.
I will always tip in some fashion.
The size of the tip is definitely related to the experience I have received.
I don't need someone kissing my butt. This person will often times find them on the tiny tip side, but a smile, pleasant manners, they can generally score big with me.
Bad service may not be because of your server, a kitchen problem, may result in your food arriving late, It isn't hot, It isn't what you ordered. These problems to me need to be addressed to the manager. They do make more than minimum. Don't shot the mailman!

I do try to consider these things, and I don't hold the server accountable for any and every little thing that goes wrong. I worked my way through college as a dishwasher and line cook. I know the system from both sides.
I was referring more to the fact that everyone seems to want a tip for everything. I'm not tipping someone at a shoe store for getting my size from the back.
When it comes to poker dealers the only ones I don't tip are the ones who act like it's a waste of their time to be dealing lower stakes games, and they are out there.
I also don't tip as well the guys who play, possibly successfully online on their off time and see fit to berate low stakes players for their mistakes. I have no idea what makes them think they have that right.
even @ 1-2 NL if i make a nice $3-400 pot, I will usually tip out at least $25.
It depends on the time I'm there, for any of you unfamiliar witht he way casinos distribute the tip outs, (out here in AB anyway), before 2 am the tips get divided among ALL the dealers in the casino, so what's the point of tipping large?
If I'm there during late night 2am-12am then I like to tip approx %20 of the pot, this way only the late night poker dealers get rewarded for a tough job where every hand at least 1 player is pissed off at you

Come again? On a 100 dollar pot you would tip 20 bucks?
Well maybe not the nicest man in poker, but having done the job I understand what they're going through especially with a miserable player and I appreciate them being willng to stay late shift so guys like you and me have somewhere to play nightly.
