Man I need to grow a pair

Late in the bounty and I have an M of around 2.5
I've only seen oldfart46 pushing premium hands and has taken the worst of it the past few times.

I was ready to push, until Oldfart46 pushed ahead of me. I think this really cost me in the tourney and it's been bugging me since then.

(results in white)

  • I think I would have shoved anyway hoping for a race (with any luck they'd both flip over lower pairs or weak aces). What did they end up having?

Not really. With a small M I should be pushing (and calling with a wide range) and just could not call off my stack with 99.
  • Thats a tough one... 99 isn't the greatest but you were getting pretty low so it probably would have been worth the risk. Had the flop come an Ace/Queen or Jack you probably wouldn't have been as bothered by this though.
  • I think with 99, it's too good a hand to pass up... give me like 22-66 and I think folding based on your read is ok but understand than you'll be pushing any pair next time..
  • M that low. i push here for sure.

I was kidding. I can see argument for both sides though. 99 is a very good hand and hard to pass up, but given you read about the UTG raiser being a nit, your argument is also valid for folding.
