On Saturday, Nov. 20th, Jour de Poker returns to the Bristol Street Nightclub and Casino! Different from last time, the Main Event will start off the action in the afternoon and move well into the evening. As the evening progresses, various side games will start up as players are eliminated. A dinner break will also occur roughly half-way through the tournament.
There are two ways to take part in this tournament. First, players can directly pay $40 to enter into the Main Event. Secondly, players can play in a variety of smaller buy-in satellite tournaments to win their entry into the Main Event.
Rules for reservations: A number of seats will be set aside for Satellite tournaments. Players who send me an RSVP will first be placed in any open spaces in the Main Event, followed by being placed on a waiting list. As the satellites complete, players will be moved from the waiting list to the Main Event as space becomes free.
(eg. five spots are set aside for Satellite #4. Due to the number of players showing up, only 3 seats were given away, and one of the those players was already on the Main Event list. This means that three people will now be moved from the Waiting List to the Main Event.)
Please note that I'm increasing the capacity to 32 players for this event but I'm not anticipating a shortage of seats. (Except, perhaps, for physical seats!) This also means that first place could potentially be worth almost $580!!!
Below are the details that you need to know...
1) Offical sign-up / waiting list
2) Details on the scheudled satellites.
3) Rules / blind schedule for the main event

The following are a list of the variety of ways that you can win your buy-in to Jour de Poker 2. I've mixed up the action to give a little something to everyone - a variety of buy-ins as well as a variety of games!
If you win an entry, but are unable to make it to the Main Event, you may auction off your buy-in to other interested players. If you've already won a seat win a second one, you'll then recieve the $40 as cash.
Satellite #1 : Wed., Oct 27th, 7pm - $10 Buy-in No-Limit freeze-out tournament - max. 21 players
(8 of 21 spots filled)
For every $40 in the prize pool, one seat will be awarded to Jour de Poker 2, (for a maximum of 5 seats), with the remaining cash going to the player eliminated "on the bubble". Other than this, the format will be the same as our usual tournaments.
Satellite #2 : Wed., Nov 3rd, 7pm - $5 Buy-in Fixed Limit Omaha Hi-Lo tournament - max. 21 players
(5 of 21 spots filled)
Who said all we play is No-Limit hold'em?! I've reduced the buy-in to $5 to host an introductory evening of Omaha Hi-Lo, (a hold'em variant) The first half hour will involve learning the basics of the game, along with playing a number of practive hands. For every $40 in the pot, one seat will be awarded to the Main Event (to a maximum of 2 seats) Remaining money will be paid out the next player. Come on out, learn a new game, and possibly win your way into the Main Event.
Satellite #3 : Thurs., Nov 11th, 7pm - $10 Head's up No-Limit Hold'em - max ??? players.
(6 of ?? spots filled)
Four players at a time will compete in a heads-up single elimination tournaments with the winner getting a seat in the Main Event. Four players will get chips, cards and a table and play 2 heads-up games. The winners of these will face off for the Jour de Poker seat. As people lose, new games will start up and the cycle will continue until a maximum of 8 places have been given out!
Satellite #4 : Wed., Nov 17th, 7pm - $10 Buy-in No-Limit Freeze-out tournament - max. 21 players.
(9 of 21 spots filled)
A repeat of Satellite #1, for those still looking for a way into the Main Event. A maximum of 5 seats will be available to be won this evening!!
Singe Table Tournaments : Oct 6th -> Nov 19th.
On any non-tournament or tournament poker nights, single table qualifiers will be available to win your seat into the Main Event!! All will be the same format - 5 player - $10 No-Limit freezeout, with the blinds raising as players are eliminated. First place will win a seat into Jour de Poker 2, while second place will get their $10 buy-in back.
In all, 8 seats will be available during the months of Oct/Nov. in these single table tournaments. So, if you bust out early in one of the Satellites and you're looking for more fun, stick around for a qualifying event.
Rules:
1. Dead button rule in effect.
2. 2 tables the basement, 2 in the garage = more room!
3. Seats will be randomly reassinged after each break.
4. List of dealer errors will be available to each table.
5. -=- more TBA -=-
Late players:
If you do not arrive by the time the tournament starts you will give up your seat to someone still on the waiting list. If you know that you'll be late, send me a message anytime up until that morning and let me know what time you'll be arriving. I'll add [hh:mm] next to your name. If you don't show up by that time, I'll be exceedingly disappointed in your and the next player on the waiting list will have the chance to take your place (but will get the usual starting number of chips) If there are no players on the waiting list, so or the players on the waiting list do not wish to take this option, the chips will be returned to the bank.
The tournament will last approximately 8-9 hours. Seating is limited to 32 players, and tables will be 8-max.

Thanks!!
Playing in a sat. is not a prereq to getting into the tournament. The last big one I ran, I didn't account for a Satellite when I did reserves and almost went over capactity because of it.
Even though there are a number of seats reserved for each event, there's two things that will cause this number to go down. Here's an example.
Event #3 has 8 spots up for grabs. Due to attendance, only 4 of those seats get taken. One person, (let's say me!) was already on the list, while another had already won a $40 seat. This means only 2 of the 8 available seats are "used" and so 6 people move from the Waiting List to the Main List.
When I worked out the Sat's, there's were four spots "open", so the first four people that reserved got on that part.
Once the sat's start, space will free up quickly. I'm also expecting most of the STT to be open as there's not a lot of time in this scheudle for extra poker!
Hope this clears up the confusion! (I know it seems awkward, but it's me trying to fix something I thought I didn't do well in the last big tournament.) If you still like to take part in the sat's, let me know and I'll add you to that list. (but it's not req'd)
Thanks!!
This tourney and the one in Londaon I'll miss, I am going to be away for those 2 weekends.
Have a good time everyone, and hopefully I'll make the next one Zithal.
Thanks anyway.
stp
I'll be the one with the nuts!
Three of these players were on the waiting list, so it's gotten shorter by a few names. In addition, I'm going to alter some of the upcoming Events, so expect to see a number of seats free up in the next few days.
Our next event is the Omaha Hi-Lo tournament. Chances are, this will just be a fun tournament for regular cash and will not be for seats into the main event. Also, so that the evening does not go on forever, I wil probably change the format to Pot Limit. Look for an announcement very soon.
Thanks to everyone that came out tonight!

Big thanks for letting me know that you can't make it to help get those in that can!!
The unusual coincidence of the tournament was that all four entrants are unsure if they can attend the Main Event on Saturday. I've asked that all the winners let me know tomorrow their intentions, so that I can finalize the list.
Two spots are guaranteed freed, so I've moved two more people into the Main Event.
I've also opened up the STT spots and am using director's perogative to fill them with my brother who's visiting me from out of town and a late entrant, "All-In" Steve S., the defending Jour de Poker Champion.
Once again, if you cannot make it, or are going to be late, please let me know asap!
For those still on the waiting list, feel free to stop in to see if any seats open up and, if not, feel free to stick around for some of the side games going on.
