<beat> Live poker is rigged!!!
Eight players left in a live tournament that started with 33 players. Blinds are $3000/$6000 with $500 ante. I have just under $60000 in chips. I have not seen a playable hand in two blind levels and have had no chance to steal. I am on the button.
Loose aggressive player in middle position raises to $36000 total. I look down to see pocket sixes and plan to push when it gets to me. Player in the cut off, who plays any face cards and any ace flat calls the raise. I figure that at best I am up against three or four overcards and possibly well behind a higher pair and fold my sixes. Of course the flop comes Q-6-2 with two clubs. Middle position bets out and cutoff folds. I am annoyed that I cannot see into the future to make the original call.
Next hand, blinds are up to $4000/$8000 with $500 ante. I think I am be rewarded because I pick up pocket aces. I raise to $28000 total in the cutoff. Small blind calls, and big blind calls. Both players have me covered. Flop comes 10-8-5 with two hearts. Big blind puts in $20000, I short raise for my last $25000, small blind check-raises all-in. Big blind folds - small blind shows pocket 5s. I am drawing to a case ace, because the button tells me she folded an ace. Of course it does not come. Out in eight place.
At least I didn't lose to runner-runner flush.
