Point Edward

Anyone here planning on playing in the Point Edward tourneys in from March 25-30th?

Comments

  • I was thinking about it, but with Seneca Casino's tournaments going on at the same week, I'd rather drive 1/3 the distance to Niagara Falls instead of Sarnia, especially with the WSOP Super Satellite on March 27.

I'll be the white guy wearing pants and a shirt :D

I R white trash so Wife Beater shirt and Dungarees are the standard uniform IMO

Edit: Normally pants and shorts is a bit of an overkill unless you are a professional dancer. I am surprisingly nimble. :D
  • I will be there 26 and 27th, does anyone know if u can play finnal tourney more than one day? Also any info on tourney's blinds/time, starting chips, payouts. One more thing a cheap hotel close to the casino. I will be the guy with a big stack of chips in front of him. lol

I believe you can try and qualify from the 27th-29th. Hotels down there can be as low as $55/night, you don't have to worry about getting a good deal.
  • As of this Monday the $150 was sold out, $300 was almost sold out, $600 has lots of seats for all days.

Yes you can play multiple days for the $600 tourney.

5% of prize pool witheld for overal tournament series points leaders. So it's best if you play them all.

Blondefish, you should like this option. The only problem is, will they allow you to play three hands at the final table :) Time for a US cash!
  • Hey amigo when do the satellites run for this......whats the cost and when do u wanna try and play them .....do we have to go there to do it ???

They have $60 and $130 sats everyday for the $600 main event only at Point Edward.
  • ARGH I gotta work on the 22 nd if u can beleive it ....we may be toast for satellites ARGGGHHHH
  • I just called Point Edward and found out that Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday are all full. There are 72 seats left for each of Thursday and Friday.

They will run single table satellites as lists fill up.

If you want any further info the number for the casino is: 1-888-394-6244.

We've been to a few of these and they are very well-run and a lot of fun.
  • Bumpity, bump!!!

I will be there on Wednesday and look forward to meeting any other who will be there. AFAIK Smooth is the only other forumer confirmed.?>?

    Cheers
  • Yeah I'll be there Cadillac - what will you be wearing?

  • anyone here try the sats? if so, I'm assuming they are crapshoots?

Structure of the sats are like turbo sngs.
The players are horrible - so these sats are definitely +EV for anyone familiar with turbo sng strategy.

I had 2 hands hold up 88, 1010 - and stole a few blinds here and there and won a token on my first try.

Structure was 200 chips, blinds up every 15 min, start at 5-10.
  • they have also been running 20 man sats , 130.00 top 4 get entrys and 260.00 top 8 gets entrys , played in both formats , 1000 in chips instead of 200 and blinds are the same as the 10 man , so they play really well played one of each format and got a coin both times, lots of donkeys.

saturday is sold out , but there are people with like 10 saturday entry coins who think there gonna be able to sell them for like 1000 on sat morning. but I think there are to many entry coins out there and that people will have a hard time selling them , if they got more than one. saturday is the worst day , as i feel most good out of town players , would skip the small tourneys and come down friday night and prep for sat.

I am playing friday , i will be the chubby guy with the brown blazer who talks alot.

gl everyone , if it sells out first place is 60k
  • Any forumer playing today or made it to Sunday's final?
  • I played Friday night and will be playing Sunday. :)
  • Didn't make it to Sunday - got knocked out with my AA against A9 Sooootted.

    Ho Hum, next tourney.
  • Anyone know who won and how much?
  • Gregory Paratchek of Seaforth won first place for $56,761.
  • Congrats on making it to the finals. Do you know if any other forumers cashed, and what place did you finish?

  • Thanks Blondefish :) I finished 2nd. I don't know any forumers outside of the forum so I don't know if any cashed or not.
