  • When you playin? I'll sweat ya. Good Luck
  • Wow congrats, furthest I've made was step 3 :\. (from step 1 with 500 FPP buy-in). My buddy made it to step 6 from step 1 and he won 2nd place prize for $1500 - he bought in with 500 FPP's.

Wish you the best of luck! GL at PS ;)
  • Thats some nice work The_Game! Post up here when you do play and maybe we can rail the game. Good luck, hope you take it down!
  • GL, I suck at these steps for some reason. Back and forth I keep going. Right now its roughly 6 good players vs 3 step players
  • Congratulations! :wav:
When is the Step 6 satellite, how many players, and what is the blind structure? It's time for strategic thinking, so I'll try to give you a call later today before I head out to the casino.

    Seconded...
  • Thats for everyone replying, well this is what me thinking.
I keep want to play, this wsop steps, till End of may... and hopefully i can win more then one ticket to step 6. i dont want to go back and forth to these steps, they are diffrent skill level. so hopefull by end of may i can get more seats. and that will give me better chance to get at least one. say if i can get 4 seats by then, i have to win 1/4 try, and possible some cash.

last night i did win a seat to step 5 so i be playing that today, soo far i invested about 75.00 to these steps, and i have a seat guranteed for step 6($2200) and step 5(700) so im very happy with it went for me.

SO WHAT YOU GUYS THINK, SHOULD I WAIT TILL END OF MAY EARLY JUNE BEFORE I START PLAYING STEP 6 AND HOPEFULLY I GET FEW MORE BY THEN.

    LET ME KNOW,

I WILL POST IT HERE WHEN EVER I DECIDE TO PLAY STEP 6.
  • Blondfish its sng 9 player. first prize wsop package(12500) 2-5 lots of cash.

sooo far my one week off work is going great.

i might head to seneca tomorrow. Friday Fallsview, Saturday maybe a game at Brampton not sure if the host got me in.

this is the schedule for me.

    talk to you later.

r u up for thursday march 28 for wsop satellite.
  • Do whatever will make you the most comfortable.

One caveat: If you win a seat on the first try, what happens if you win a second? Do they give you cash? If not, then play the 6's as you get them..
  • you get cash for subsequent wins unless they changed from last year...there is no point in waiting to play higher steps, good luck...i'm currently at 2 step 3s starting at step 1s early today with my fpps...the overall play seems weaker than the same every-day cash sngs...hope to see you up there one day

How many fpp's for step 1? I'd check but I am at work now.
  • 500fpp and it's not too hard to get top 2 and move on

Sweet... I have a bunch of FPPs... gonna have to give it a go :)
  • I've tried step1 once and boy... people are crazy aggressive wiht any cards... all-in all the way (maybe it just happended that way Idunno...)

lost on a suckout and kinda decided to give up... maybe I'll try again in a couple days when my crap streak ended.

    lol, thought you "retired"?
  • These Steps look like a good way to go if you get some good tables... I like the set up alot.. haven't really played one yet but hoping to at the end of the month when I get some spare time.... busy busy.

I was looking at one of those, I think they call them cash qualifiers, and man are the people in there ever aggressive... unless you get a good run of cards you pretty much cant do anything, and it was a rebuy to boot so I ended up wasting 30 bucks on that one tourney and got no where after the break. So I think I will be getting my ticket through the steps...

The one thing that really attracts me to the steps is that if you continue to get up to step 6 and then come in second, after a while you could almost use the money you win from there to buyin to the ME... so that's also a bonus...
  • I got the info if you win more then one seat.
first you have to get the package and go to las vegas, after that they will credit your account with cash money, you can use it to play or withdraw the money and take cash..

Yes these early steps are very aggressice its super fast game takes about 35 45 min to 1 hour for completion i never played step one, i always start with step 2 cost $27.
play very aggressiv, after 15 minutes stealing blinds are huge, and remember you dont need to win this game. top 2 moves on. 9 players 2 players move on starting stack 1500 time nince=13500. 13500/2 =6750 once you reach that stack protect ur stack and play safe. this is how i won all the steps soo far.

i also have a seat for step 5 will play later tonight.
  • Thanks... I might try that out... I have this strategy that has been working for me in every low buyin SNG I go into... pretty much play extremely tight only picking up chips when I have big hands... so the table sees me as tight and then when only 3 or 4 players or left I change gears and become aggressive 80% of the time it catapults me into 1st or 2nd and I finish off the tourney like that... so that might work for the lower steps.. but in the higher steps I should probably be aggressive right from the start.... what does everyone think about that?
  • step 2 3 are very fast im not sure if you can wait for good hands just be aggressive from begingin, and if u double up once then u be in a great situation to finish some where in top 3 or better. remember 1500 stack, 5 minu blind, and blinds come arond very fast.

step 5. 10 minutes blind level its pretty good.
  • Yeah just tried it out and they are pretty crazy early. Got lucky and thru the first 2 Steps, will try Step 3 tomorrow.
  • Way to go Yama !
  • Oh yeah that's right... the first few are turbos aren't they? I forgot about that.... bleh... I dislike turbos... well I will see what I can do,
  • turbos are the only sngs i play anymore online -- just remember in these things once you get to step 3 and up everyone is playing super TIGHT to try and guarantee a recycle...play LAGGY and you have a better chance of advancing IMO
  • I also find out, playing morning or early after noon, plyers are alot loser and not that stron, night time the games take longer, try it and compare you will see what i mean.
  • Muahahah. Donkaments are so silly.

Fired up 3 of the step 1's on my lunch today. I figured I can get them done inside of 40 mins.

    First one:

Button seemed to know what he was doing, the blinds were growing and he had started to ramp up his stealing. My stack is perfect for a re-steal and as a bonus I actually have a hand.

LOL. BB calls my 3 bet with 66.

Won a step 2 ticket in the 3rd one d:D.
  • Played 2 ... well...
first one got sucked out and finished 3rd... on the 2nd try with my ticket, all in with AK vs 33 and A3.

    FLop 6 K 9 (w00t !!)
    river 3 WTF
    stupid 1 outer :(

anyways... I'm a sad pussy in a can
  • I've gotten up to step 3, I've been really patient with hand selection....still getting run over with monster hands. :P
  • I'm the say way. I always start at step 2, can't get past step 3. Annoying
  • Couldn't find this thread last night -- got a step 5 so far.

Anyone know if expired tickets will have $T value? I'd rather just win a bunch of step 5 tickets and cash them in for $T after the summer if possible.
  • I've played 4 step 1's and had won one.

    1 step 2 and I won that.

$30 investment into $82 in equity. If you could sell the T$ this would be goldmine.
