Message From Blazin

I didn't want this to get lost in the shuffle so I hope you don't mind me posting it here Graham.

I visited Cam today at Sunnybrook and spent some time talking with him.

He asked me to relay the following:

Thanks from him and his family to everyone who has written on the forum, phoned, e mailed etc to show their support and concern during this time.

He indicated that he is feeling a lot better over the weekend. He will probably be relocated to a rehab hospital at some point this week. It is expected that he will be there approximately 2 to 4 weeks.

Special note to SirWatts: Congrats he was routing for you, and knows it's only time before you break through and win one of those WPT tourney.

Again thanks to everyone :)

  • I just saw this in off topic Recognizing a Stroke Again it's important given what has happened to one of our own. BTW Dr. Larry, Thanks from me, I'm sure you know why.
  • I'm very glad to hear Cam is doing well, and I'm rooting for him to get back on his feet in the very near future.

Thanks Joe, for taking the time to visit him, I'm sure he appreciated it. I wanted to as well, but other commitments had me tied up. Hopefully I can get over to see him soon though.
  • Hi All,

I have made this a sticky as many members on this forum are good friends with Cam and I was unaware of the original thread. Though we have never met I hope you get better soon and will see you back on the forums soon. By the sounds of Joe's post you are on your way to a positive recovery!

Hopefully I can make it out to one of your games one day!

  • Thank You Graham.

I am letting people know what's going on. I visited him today and gave the message he gave. I know a lot of people care so I thoiught I should inform them. I know within 2 months I will see Cam at the tables.

    Thank you.
  • I wouldn't call myself Cam's friend, and I can guarantee he doesn't know me.

I did however play a few West Side tourney's before moving west and thought he did an excellent job of running those. By all indications he is an excellent guy, and a good friend to many in the poker community.

    Get well soon sir.

I re posted Acid Joe's information on my Facebook page as well. Thought it was an excellent bit of info to share.
  • Get well, sir. I hope we can meet and play poker together one day.
  • Cam, I'm glad you took my advice and went for a second opinion. I hope you are in good hands now and they are looking after you properly.

The road to recovery is a long one, but I am sure you will pull through with flying colours.

Once you are feeling better, give me a shout, I have a little "insider tip" on a possible new job for you.

And remember this, one week after my little hospital visit 2 years ago, I won the $5R on PokerStars. Maybe it's a good thing.
    :)
  • Cam,

We've played a few time but whatever. Get well. My brother-in-law suffered a stroke a few years ago at 28. It takes time to heal but it does happen. You're young and determined enough to get through it.

He still has some side effects but overall he is better. The most important thing is to keep a sense of humour about it. You can find him playing Poker Stars as "first_stroke". Most people think it is a sexual name.

    Anyway, get better.
  • Get well Cam. I don't know you well either but my father has recently gone through this as well. You can get through it!
  • Just wanted to update everyone on Cameron. The doctor's are very please with his progress. He spent 4 days at home over the Easter holiday. He is schedule for release on April 3rd from his rehab assignment. No news as to when he gets his license back or when he is able to go to work.

  • Just thought I woul let everyone know that Cam will be coming home on Thursday. The doctors are please with the progress of his rehab.

    Brent
  • Very Nice to hear.
  • Hey Brent, that's great news... Is his cell still active? I had spoken to Cam on Thursday and arranged to call him Sun evening and arrange to visit yesterday or today. I called both Sunday evening and last night but didn't get him. I left a message both times but haven't heard back. Jeff..
  • Great news...just talking to the wife about it during our drive today, wondering how he was doing...great to hear things are coming along so well.
  • I had no idea what was going on....All the best Cam! Glad to hear things are going well.

Buddha will watch over your journey to recovery.
