This is actually something that has bothered me since I joined the forum. It probably belongs in the Site Feedback forum section, but it seems appropriate to respond here. When you join the forum it says to introduce yourself to the community. However, as someone who had never been a part of any kind of forum before I was shy to post anything. Even when I considered making my first post to introduce myself, it was not clear on how or where to do that.
I suggest adding a forum section for introductions. Perhaps one thread per month that is created by an admin person where the first post is a quick description of how to say hello. For example suggesting to the new member that they let everyone know how long they have been playing, what games, what they are hoping for when joining the forum.
