I signed up a while back via the web site, but I can't find the tourney listed. How do you verify that you're signed up for it? BTW, I'm Paul3221 on RV. I hope to see some friendly faces (names) there.
*sigh* - im out 126th - this is how it happended (in two short hands):
Im playing (stack about 9k) and dealt AA - someone before me bets all in at 5K and change - i call - no one else calls - he has A :club: Qo - he got two from flop :club: :club: , the turn :club: , and the river :club: all same suit to his A - beat by flush on river! :banghead:
The very next hand I'm dealt Q :diamond: ( and something) :diamond: - called - flop three beatuiful diamonds, 6 :diamond: 7 :diamond: A :diamond: - only the K :diamond: : can beat my flush - he bets large, covering me - i call - he has pocket 6's - the turn brings up another 7 and full houses me out of the game.
woot-woot, got caught stealing the blinds with QTo which on the flop gave 2 pair, but didnt beat the set of tens that hit too...so down from 3500 to 500, ss and I get AA and double up, great back into it..
next hand, pocket 7's which hit a set on the flop, I go all in looking to double and get beat by k-6 runner runner flush draw....and out I was
Got to sit with Ralph the Mouse and my seat was taken by xqueeseme
I had a good time. Not overly happy with my last 20 minutes or so that I was alive. The rest of the tourney went very well for me. I was always one of the higher stacks, even lead a few different times early in the tourney for the first hour. I caught some very good cards throughout the first hour. AA, 3 times, winning all 3. I hope that wasn't you Society, beacause I put someone out that had trip 10's. I had AA, and caught the high str8 on the river. Hope that wasn't you.
I also had a crazy hand after the first hour where I was dealt 83o at the BB. The calls came to me and I checked. The flop was 8A8, a check from me, bet call and a call from me. The river was a 3, a check from me, a bet, a fold and a call from me. The river came 8. I threw in a small bet to appear for the steal. I was raised and then I pushed all-in for my last 3 or 4000. I thought for sure it was going to be a fold and I got called. Yahooooo!!
I then leant 4 or 5000 to ralphdamouse and immediately moved to another table, where I got quite lucky, steealling some pots and building up my stack over 25000. Then the wheels came off with some good cards but no catches. :banghead: Then I sat beside BBC at the final 4 tables and didn't last all that long there, going out in 33rd.
It was fun, and thanks for the support from stp, ralph and BBC and I think whissy, who I didn't know??
I played under my other nick -- Dr_Draw. Finished 14th out
of 640ish by playing my last hand very badly. I should have
made the top five or less but I went freaky and thought the chip
leader was trying to run over me. All the danger signs were there
but I was oblivious. So I only got $45 free dollars and it
should have been much much more.
Also, I was watching Xsqueezeme play and he was doing very well
to start and kept it going into the midgame. Cards must have
turned against him since he felted short of the money. But good
game Squeeze!
im really disappointed about my play towards the end. i had a short stack and focussed on staying alive for a long while, and when i finally tripled up i didnt really know what to do
it was like i was used to waiting for all in cards
in the end, i got knocked out by 2 failed steal attempts. 1 was awful, and the last one wasnt bad, just unlucky
came 140 ish. Two hits in a row (JJ loses to A9) and 66 loses to KQ on 889 flop (s/he check, I pushed 5 Bets him all in). Then lose with A9 to QT. Couldn't catch, and the better hand never held up. I did see Stpboy!
Somewhere in the middle i got short and tried to steal the
blinds with AJo -- ok, not really a steal, a pretty good hand --
but got a caller. Flop TT7 with two spades to my As. Check
to me, I'm all in, called. He has AJo too! Next two cards are
spades. Went from near death to tenth place. I'm still mad at
myself because I could have finished so much
higher......grrrrr.........
But it was a lot of fun! Kind of reminded me of IRC poker,
for those of you that are old enough to remember that.
Congrats all on a well played tourny! I had a tonne of hands early on and was playing fairly aggressively. Was up to 4400 and raised UTG to 800 with A10. MP re-raises all in for another 1100, I'm hoping I've got two overcards and reluctantly call him. He shows KK. Flop hit an Ace...and a King. I'm fairly short after that and the blinds seem to be moving much faster then I am used to, I once again raise from EP with KQ and get pushed all in by the same guy that had KK, I call feeling the need to get lucky and so does another guy. AK vs. AJ vs. KQ, noone hits and I'm outty in 312.
Can't wait for the next one. It was funny to cheer on Pokerforum.ca when my blurbs were in between about 1000 "Go WPC Go!!!" and "Get em' Ladies!!". Congrats again Prof and BBC_Z.
I finished in 102nd place. I pretty much just couldn't get it going in the middle stages of the tourney, and was grinding along with a short stack for quite a while before I finally moved in from the cut-off with A-2 or something like that for around 3*BB after one player had limped. I was called in two places including the BB who had 88 which held up against me.
PokerForum.ca ended up finishing 10th in registrations with 20 players registered (not sure exactly how many played though).
Thanks for participating & I hope everyone had a fun tourney.
yeah. The only dislike I had against RVP is their blinds move up way too quickly. @ 10minutes/level, its @ like Level 7 after the break which is 150/300, while compared to starts, would be 75/150 and have plenty of action left, so it kinda of leave it as an all in fest in the later stages. If the levels were 15 minutes each, im pretty sure it would go a lot smoother poker.
