First time at Fallsview/Casino Niagara!!

It's gunna be my first time playing at a casino and I'm very excited!! I'll be playing at the 1/2 NL tables. I was just wondering, and this may sound stupid, but what denominations of chips should I get from the cage for $100....

  • Get 3-25, 3-5, 10-1 that way it's easier to push all in, cause you'll be doing it soon :D
  • haha, so you're actually serious?
on 2+2 someone was saying to get at least 80 white chips

I doubt he is. I usually just get a rack full of whites (100) and have green/blacks in my pocket for topping up.
  • Okay, thanks a lot!
  • Last time I played 1/2 there I got a rack of whites (100 $1 chips) and the whole table groaned when I showed up, maybe because the max buy-in was $100 but most people had $200-$300 in front of them and a real bet/raise was to $20. A raise to $6 was just a limp.
  • the cage will ask what table you are playing at and will give you the appropriate chips; if the wait is too long at Niagara, head over across the bridge to Seneca Casino for no wait time and better rake/hr.
  • Ok thanks......yeah my first option would have been Seneca Niagara.....the only problem is that I'm not 21...I guess I'll be waiting another year till then!
  • fuck the whites. get a row of reds. much easier to carry. they have whites at the table. get some greens to carry in your pocket for quick top ups if you want. avoid the 100max table if you can. total donkey bingo. go for the 200max.

and make sure you take a tub of vasoline with you. you'll understand why after your aces get cracked by some guy defending with 64o.
  • Fallsview only offers $1-$2 NL with a $100-$200 buyin on ONE table from Sunday thru Thursday. There is no longer $1-$2 NL on Fridays or Saturdays.

BTW - Just bring a stack of $5 red chips.

What he said! Oh and fuck niagara too. Seneca is where the cool kids hang out.
  • Haha... fuck 'em all!

    ONE BLACK CHIP! :)

    Mark
  • Oh no are you serious!????????? Wow this sucks so much, guess I'll be spending my days at casino niagara playing poker, and then my nights at fallsview playing other games........or I could try 5-5 limit at fallsview if they have it.....
  • jdAA88 wrote: »
or I could try 5-5 no limit at fallsview since they have it.....

    fixed it for ya.
  • What's the rest of the Fallsview poker room schedule for the week? Are the 5/5 and 2/5 NL restricted to two tables each from Sunday to Thursday? I'm playing in a Skill Level 5 tournament on Saturday, but I'll try to carpool to Fallsview after.

  • $2-$5 NL and $5-$5 NL tables are available on a need basis. There will always(?) be at least one of each running.

There is also no $2-$5 limit game available on Fridays or Saturdays.

LOL... I think that very hand has cracked my aces on a number of times.
  • Fallsview IMO has the best 5/5NL game around.....player wise it can't be beat.....

Here are some tips that I use to get through the day there:

    1. Come to the complete understanding that the game is going to move as slow as anything...I usually sit and play along with the table for the first 2 hours until I have identified my targets who spew chips.

    2. If you are going in with AA or KK with a multiway pot, 60-80 bucks isn't going to cut it with when it comes to re-raising....blow people out of the pot with 150-200 bets....if someone calls you know on the flop you are getting in. I know this play seems irratic but eventually some numb nut calls you with some random hand because "he likes to gamble" and you get paid.

    3. The game runs very passive....see every flop...its fun and you get to watch people get AK and junk like that get cracked by 39 off....

After you win about 1-2 buy ins get up and leave for a while....otherwise you end up dumping it all back :)

I usually aim to make 1000-1500 a session there and then leave. I hit and run :)

I would like to meet you. And I assume you mean "you can't get any better than this game" not "these players are so good you cannot make money", right?

What are you, 16 years old??
Did you feel like Daddy Warbucks counting off each raise one chip at a time?

Well I guess that is one way to announce "I'm a noob!"
    Very tricky Mr Chris. ?

+1. But I have never played 5/5NL anywhere else...
  • Last week at FV I saw 3 players all-in preflop, 2 guys with about $400 & 1 guy with about $300. K10 X 2 & 77, I've never seen 3 players all-in preflop in the same pot with that much each with such bad hands.

Seneca does a lot of things better, but table selection makes Fallsview the best area casino to play the higher limit NL games. At Seneca, the "Big Game" is usually the single 2/5 table, so sometimes the best players in Seneca are stuck grinding it out against each other, unable to beat the rake. At Fallsview, when table conditions become unfavourable, I can change to another 2/5 or 5/5 table. For example, there were at least six 2/5 and four 5/5 tables this weekend, along with a 5/10 ($1000 max) and 10/25 ($3000 max).

Anytime there are less than 10 players in a table, Fallsview's session fee becomes better compared to a rake. The amount and percentage of money being taken per hour from each player and the table can go much higher with a rake as players go for meal breaks or the table becomes 6-9 handed, compared to Fallsview's constant $12/hour/player. A friend who is a winning player at Seneca's cash games and tournaments also likes the $5 NL cash games at Fallsview even better, where he hasn't had a single losing session yet. Last time we carpooled to Fallsview, he was up as always but wanted to go home early; after being involved in an all-in for the fourth time, I agreed to leave since I had more than quadrupled up after only two hours.

If anybody is interested in joining a car pool from the QEW to go to a Niagara area casino (especially on Saturdays), PM or let me know. What we do is phone Fallsview, Niagara and Seneca to find out the number of 2/5+ tables and people waiting. We phone from the car at the optimum time to sign up and minimize the waiting time. We have always been near the top of the list by the time we sign in, but we are prepared to drive to Seneca if the wait is too long. While driving, we also get to discuss the many mistakes we make during a session, so we improve our game.

Hehehe...yeah I guess I phrased it a little abstract. It is a great game in terms of profitibility (hence what I mean by can't be beat :))

And as for meeting me, I was there fri-mon this weekend past and if you were there on monday night I was on table 5 causing the old men to leave because I got the whole table yelling and screaming.....lol

I also table talk too much and the dealers either find it really annoying or quite funny as it usually has nothing to do with the game but just general observations.

The best one this weekend was "Mr. Bling"....now the reason why we called him this was because he was wearing a red and white golf shirt with a red/white poker hat...full beard with crazy black shades and a giant $ sign around his neck....

I had originally asked to call him Mr. Poker but he didn't appreciate that too much so we settled on Mr. Bling. And btw he didnt change his clothes all weekend....

Look for me next time...I usually dress like a bum with my drunk monkey hat (its a red hat with a monkey logo on it) and if you look at my wrist I have a blue faced submariner rolex on usually. (yeah I am a baller..but i where it because it reminds me why I am at the table....to scoop :))
