Major Announcement
Hi All,
Many of you have noticed a few small changes lately and an increase in activity from the sloth (admin) account, so we figure it is best to make this announcement.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Graham Rowlands and this past weekend myself and my business partner Gregory O'shea (forum username Gregory O) purchased this site and a few other websites from Neil. We wanted to make this a seemless transfer to the community as we did not want to scare everyone, so we have been holding off on making the official announcement. As Canadians and poker players, we felt this site was a great combination and something we were very interested in.
Over the past few days I have been posting with the sloth account in order to familiarize myself with the forum, and resolve some of the outstanding issues. This was not meant to be deceptive in any way, but more just a way to ease into the announcement that the site had changed ownership.
First off, rest assured that we will not be making any immediate changes right away and the forum will remain the place that you have come to love. We do plan on however, adding a lot more content to this site, to make it one of the number one resources for information for Canadian Poker players. This will include things like detailed information about Canadian Casinos and places to play live poker, Canadian Poker Player bios, poker strategy articles, and much more!
So what can we bring to the table? I have been a poker player for over 7 years now and also run several poker websites (including Bankrollboost.com, and FuzionPoker.com). I have been running these websites now for about 2 years and have had the chance to meet a lot of people in the industry. This means I have lots of good contacts and can bring all sorts of fun promotions for the members of the site. For example, in the next week we plan to announce a special tournament for members of PokerForum.ca where you will be able to play with one of the biggest names in poker. Along with that we plan to get a lot of great content on the site to either help you with your game, or just entertain you.
We will look to members of the forum to provide suggestions of anything they would like to see on the Forum, which we will take very seriously and do our best to implement.
I understand that forums are a very tight knit community as I am a member of several. We do not want to break this community bond, but would rather request that over time you accept us as members to the community. Think of it this way, this is your forum, and we are just here to make it a little better for YOU!
We hope you can welcome us into your community and look forward to speaking with you all. We think this will be an exciting year for PokerForum.ca with lots of cool stuff to come!

I look forward to the work and new changes that Graham and Gregory will bring to this forum to make this a better place, and provide more incentives for our current members.

Thanks Wes, and thanks for some of the suggestions that you have already mentioned. You are definitely a huge asset to this forum and we look forward to working with you more in the future!
Can't wait to see what you guys have planned though. Recent changes/additions have been great so far, hoping its just the icing on the cake to come.
I guess that is why my name is CPF Newbie... I'll move the post to this forum.
I copied it over already
Oh boy..thats why there were two...lol, think its fixed now
Yeah..I saw in the process of merging it too until you beat me to it.
Again, welcome aboard, can't wait to see where this leads.
Definitely not! I think they are one of the best things about this forum! We may try and add more things for you to use them on (on top of using them at poker sites), but don't worry they aren't going anywhere!
The increased activity in the last bit here has been noticed. Emails to old accounts that have brought some people back into the fold is a great start and I hope that you keep it going!!
I do have a suggestion:
I would like to see the addition of some pure strategy forums. Maybe one for cash and one for tournaments to start. These can be a great for all involved and help keep strat threads on track (I find they get sidetracked far too often in the general forums.)
As you grow the strat forums you can begin to sticky the higher quality threads and build a juicy resource that will help drive traffic to the site as well as give newer posters a baseline for the poker education. Myself and I am sure many others have seen enough, "KK on the button gets 3 bet - Fold or Shove?" or "ZOMG AA cracked twice in 15 minutes."
In order to improve the site we definately need to grow in some key areas.
Welcome aboard. I am excited about the future.

Really excited about the idea of bringing in solid info in lieu of just strict chat and peer feedback. (not that those two aren't invaluable resources!)
Are you a girl or a guy or both? (pics... I'm mixted up)
Brandi Hawbaker or whatever name she goes by these days...
I can't wait to see whats in store!
I for one welcome our new poker forum overlords..
And, with that reply, Zunni wins the thread. WP sir
can't wait for the numerous changes you guys have in store, So far so good
Thanks for all the warm welcomes and great suggestions so far in this thread and from the PMs I received. I will look over all the suggestions and probably get some polls going to decide on certain changes by general consesus.
Cadillac, I definitely like the idea of some more strat based sections. There are so many very knowledgeable and successful poker players on this forum that we should try and keep these posts in a separate section so they don't get burried.
Kristy, the PM you sent me was great! I really like the idea of having some bios of some of the well known players on this forum and think some kind of interview series would be a great idea. If anyone would be interested in doing a quick interview (some time in the near future) shoot me a PM. I am thinking something like this could become a weekly or monthly feature to spotlight some of our well known members. Here is what Kristy sent me:
"And hopefully to include some bios on our own top players, like SirWatts, Magithighs, All_Aces..or fringe ones like Peteski who've made big scores..and not just the Canadians playing in the states."
We are currently looking for some kind of custom VB Skin that will allow us to post more articles that would be easy for everyone to use. If anyone knows anyone, shoot me a PM.
So ones again thanks to everyone at PFC and to Neil for all the hard work that he put in to take this forum where it is today!

I think Kristy found a new sugar daddy.
Well, I did win $3.50 off of him in sidebets over the last month.
He may never play pool again. Our Waitress' shoes were blue, the first person to walk by our table had a black shirt on, there are non-poker playing regulars at the casino bar, our server prefers the Senators over the Canadians (I lost that one) I'm currently 2-0 in competitive minesweeper, I schooled him 2-1 in rock, paper, scissors..he's the king of online checkers, 'bejeweled' is my thing. He would not take 2:1 that I could eat my entire meal with chopsticks faster than him, nor give 2:1 that I could speak entirely french at Fallsview and get away with it.
He's paying me in instalments..the first one came the form of 150 pennies tied up in an old sock at Buzzards's tournament. (as many of you saw)
