Toronto Multi Game Tourny
I'm looking to have a Multi game tourny, about 7-10 games. These games will be held once a week on a day where we would get the largest turn out. I'm thinking Friday early evening or Saturday afternoon. I'm also looking for help in coming up with with the fine details.
Here is what I was thinking.
Every week we hold a tournament where there is a affordable buy in of about $15 or $20 plus 2. the plus $2 will go into a pool for the final game.
example: $2 times lets say 15 people(someweeks more, some less i'm sure) is $30. $30 times 10 weeks is $300.
the winners of each tourny will win the pot that consists of the initial buy in.
We keep score of the positions finished in the weekly tournament play. The top 3 players will recieve free entry into the final tournament.
Lets say the final tourny is a little higher buy in $25 -$30. 15 players at $25 would be $375 plus the $300 is $675.
Now a player would have to play in a minimum of 5(?) tournys to be alowwed to play in the final ( this keeps out players looking to win a pot they've never put into). You will be allowed to send a substitute as long as they say there playing for you at the beginning of the game.
I would like to change the poker game weekly (hold'em, 7 card stud, Omaha)

I'd probably be in.
hork.
I am in and if you need help just PM me. I have organized quite a few mini tournament and one or 2 larger scale one before.
i'm most likely to be in ..depending on the day
You have the exact same idea that I have. I have been mulling over starting a similar type event. The only differences that I see between ours are the buy-ins and frequency. I'm planning on larger buy-in events, ranging between $75 to $250. We might want to try and coordinate things......possibly have some of your events as satellites into my larger buy-ins. Just an idea. I'm still in the prelims of organizing. I still need to check out my location to see if it's adequate, then I'm going to decide on whether to go ahead with things. I'll PM you if I am going through with things and maybe we can work something out?
Cheers,

I will be working on the site for the next couple days (i'm learning how to write HTML so it's taking a while) So check out the site often. If your interested in playing, go to this web site and confirm through there.
i can't confirm my registration also the link doesn't work
register me in the TPT too
If possible, I also would be interested in the blinds schedule and payout information, but there is no rush. I'm sure it depends on your anticipated sign up. Thanks for putting this together.
sent my registration!
If anyone has chips they can lend on the 16th of October it will be greatly appreciated.
My only suggestion would be maybe considering a higher buy-in. I doesn't have to be $100, but for people coming from the burbs (Oaktown for me) I think a little extra cheese on the pizza might be cool. $25 or $50 would be a bit more enticing...
The nice thing I am finding out about Toronto these days is that there are tournaments popping up for all level of players.
It might be too late to suggest this, but have you considered making the top prize for the final event an entry into a Canadian Poker Tour event?
I want to keep the buy in fairly low so when we start playing the other games like Omaha and 7 card stud players won't shy away from the game. I think most players are fluent in Holdem but would like to have a chance to play other games cheap.
This tournament is designed to be fun, meet fellow Toronto poker players, have a little competition with the player points and get in good practice for when you do go to the casino.
