Currency Exchange in Vegas

I am going in two weeks and have never been before.

I mentioned to a co worker yesterday that I thought it might be wise to swap some of my roll to US funds now while the rate is quite favourable. He said not to as the Casino's in Vegas give really good rates of exchange on Canadian money as an incentive.

Can anyone confirm or deny this rumour?

Thanks Kids.

  • Actually the rate is always better at a bank here in Canada, probably save 1-2%. Take enough to cover your expected expenses, you can always debit more if needed. The Casinos don't gouge you but still not as good as here in Canada.
  • Canadian bank rates are always better than anywhere else in my opinion. If you are going to exchange here never pay cash take it out of your savings/chequing account to exchange it you will get a better rate than if you walk in with 1K in cash. (I know at TD you do).
