Fallsview logs off...
It's been a while since I have posted and this will be the last thread that I post under this screen name. I am no longer at Niagara Casinos, my resignation was effective the day of the final table of this years WPT. I was offered and accepted a tremendous position to oversee a few small casinos in the Caribbean and to develop a new mega-resort down here as well. I have been fortunate enough to recruit two managers from Niagara, Karl the night poker manager, and Pat who managed poker previously to when I took over.
I have enjoyed this forum and truly believe that it is one of the most dedicated and reserved forums relating to poker, although I do believe some posters are wound a slight bit too tight! You know who you are. I tried to be blunt and honest and show "the other side", the business side, of poker which is often not taken into consideration by players/posters. You can say all you want about "overflow" play and wives/friends, etc, but the bottom line is that the vast majority of major casinos/corporations would prefer not to deal with poker and/or it's players. It just does not make enough of an impact, especially whan you factor in the number of situations that are dealt with in a poker room on a daily basis. You can say that it has to do with how the room is run and/or managed, but it is simply every poker room, ask them. If you want to truly make a difference in poker, get into the business side of it and fight for things to be operated better. You will see changes, some positive such as the raised buy-ins on the 1-2NL, and you will see some negatives, I'll leave that for future threads so you have things to discuss.
I do ask one thing, please leave 13Cards alone at the casino, he does not make the decisions to change things in the poker room and he has been getting hammered lately with issues. Take issues to the manager on duty. I do believe that we built the best poker room in Canada at Fallsview, and certainly spent money and time to raise the profile of poker in Canada.
I appreciate everyone's feedback over the past couple of years, for the WPT and the room itself at Fallsview.
Flame away! :)

Thanks so much for the huge contribution you've made to this forum and poker in general. It's a huge boom for the forum to have someone on the management inside posting here.
I'm looking for a place to stay that offers both poker and scuba diving. Any recommendations? I was looking at the holiday inn in Aruba...
