Just amazing what some people classify as a bad beat.

Guy calls off 2/3 of his stack with ATo to a player that got his hand caught in the cookie jar with 97o.

    Sucks...yes...Bad beat NO.
  • pokerstars obv. so rigged imo.
  • ok, my definition of a bad beat is making a play that is good, being a fav, not supplying the right odds to your opponent (where applicable) and losing.

this hand meets my criteria where it can.

    And pokerstars is SFOBV rigged.

LOL. was just responding to that.

P.S. anyone wondering about my mindless posts today is because CPF bucks are my new retirement plan.
  • OK AT donk raised all in with 3 people to go against a goofball.

Thsi isnt a bad beat this is just bad play imo
  • Meh...had someone complaint about losing AK vs. QQ as a bad beat, and then didn't say a word when his 99 wins vs. JJ AIPF.
  • Bad beat = you get your money in the with best and lose. So ya this is a bad beat.

ATo had 64.44% to win with a 0.46% to tie.

If thats not a bad beat then I dunno what is.

Guess I have a higher standard of a bad beat in NL (there are none in Limit :D ).

With 5 cards to come and the other player having outs doesn't qualify that situation as a bad beat. I mean the flop could have come 779, is that still a bad beat?

Especially only being ahead 64 to 36 when all the money got in...

Now if they had played this on til the turn and then got it all in, then yes with a made straight and only a 6 to make the 79's hand be a winner (A to tie), that would be a bad beat. (87.5% to 12.5%)

Probably what happened here is the raiser had to go, and decided to all-in until his/her chips were gone.
  • Play Omaha hi/lo and enjoy watching people whine about getting bad beat when they were actually a 2-1+ underdog in terms of expected value.
  • Has anyone seen an acual bad beat go at the casino? My home casino poker room has been open for about 7 months, it's almost capped at $20,000. Closest i've seen to a bad beat was A9 vs KK, flop AAA....but the 9 kicker didn't play.

Also I flopped quad aces with kicker playing cept nobody had QQ or KK. :(

i like kristy's bad beat mindset. get ur hand in with the best of it.. otherwise you are just in a shitty situation when u got AA v KK and K-RAG-RAG come's and you push, obviously you are gettin called, not necessarily a "bad beat"
  • Does getting AIPF with AJ vs A9, and catching runner runner straight after a 9 flop counts as a bad beat? According to the player with A9 it does! :D
  • That's actually an official 'FCK YEAH'

What am I missing here? Does a 9 kicker usually play when it's quad As vs full house? wtf...

If I flop quads and I have to worry if my kicker is any good, then I think I am a little bit too passive for this game.

Normally in a bad beat jackpot, both of your cards have to be in play for it to count. In the case of quads, either you have a pair or you have one of the three on board plus your other card plays as a kicker. Having said that, some bad beat jackpots would insist that you have a pair in the hole if you are in a bad beat situation involving quads.
  • Does this qualify as a bad beat?
