Is this to nitty? - MTT rebuy advice

I have just really started playing rebuys more seriously now and this is from last night. I have enough on the site to cover 10 rebuys + addon if necessary.

First hand of a rebuy MTT.

2 allin's in front of me that rebought off the top and the 2 behind me ended up calling.

I look down and see pocket 3's.
I was kicking myself for not calling as any pair is probably ahead at this point.

  • Poker stove results if you care showed be a bit behind the range that I figured:

    Suited connectors 78+
    Any 2 face cards
    Any 2 broadway.
    Any ace
  • I would've been willing to gamble there myself...
  • Run 33 against two random hands on pokerstove and see what your equity is. I would guess not too high as I think I ran it before against one random allin player and it said I needed 44 or higher.
  • Based on my criteria above (and my thinking that the other 2 would push also), I had 18% equity.

  • if you're too nitty so am I.

and how did you know that there were going to be two callers behind?

push them, don't call with them.

Played these ones before and it's a push fest early on.

I would lean towards just running it against random hands rather than a range. By the time it gets to the 4th/5th caller, I might've played any 2.

Any reason pertinent to this tourney, with these players and this hand?

    btw, what are the stakes?

Actually eff that...for once I don't care what stakes, it is a fold. You're posting this HH to get real advice, anything other than 'fold' is just llnl rebuy donkaments.
  • The "right" answer is fold. I wouldn't hold it against you if you took some slightly poor gambles in a rebuy period though, but you are costing yourself some ev for sure.

    It's the right play.
You're probably ahead before the flop but...
33 is one of those strange hands that is ahead when heads up but loses a lot when facing 4 or more random hands to showdown.
  • Thanks for the input guys.
Seems like either move is ok depending on how much you feel like gambling and with the 2 allins and most likely 2 more to follow, I could pick a better spot to get my $ in.
