The stakes in those things get insanely high insanely fast. A single mistake essentially crippled me. Followed up by a couple nasty beats, and some fatigue, you ain't getting too far
Are there any books that address playing late in limit hold em tourney's? I've gone fairly deep in a few, but seem to make mistakes at some pretty key moments and blow it.
Playing Deep Stack on Stars, 6+ hours in, sitting 35/95 with average stack,
Just took a pep talk from Westside8 on MSN about stealing when the next hand played out...

I'm chip leader on prima ( Poker Time) 9 Left, top 10 pay
About 45k stack Blinds at 2nd break, Average stack is around 21k
Tourny ID432221
Nick: Orion42stc
Not a huge prizepool but still. its the thought that counts.
If anyone is still awake at this hour and is interested, I'm in the 11:59 $3R on Stars to qualify for this Sunday's $750K tourney.
23 qualifies, 24th gets $210 or something. I'm sitting at around 30/88 just above avg stack.
Edit: Out in 50th. Stupid residence internet died on me, went from avg stack (40K) to short stack (7K) with blinds at 1.5k/3k in 4 orbits. Pushed UTG with 68 sooted and AQ turned a straight. My life card at the end was no help.
I'm right now in the $3 tournament from 7:05 on Stars, 2nd break, 2nd in chips! TME316 if anyone is interested in watching!
**** Update 42nd now, made a donkey play 3/4 into the hour, lost 3/4 of my stack where I should have just let it go! Ah well, still in with 88 players left
********* Finished 37th, not really what I wanted, got short stacked and had to push, satisfied but wanted that final table bad! Ah well, next time!
I can't help but think the sliced bread move would have worked on that guy with the A5. If you bet out to him $900 I think he would have folded to you.

The deck is cold as can be though, hope it gets better.

I am watching you again.

Oh well, rebuild now!
Good luck.

...one poorly played hand (earlier on) just wrecks you...
Thanks MDS for your support!
Bill
Yeah, i can't win there tonight.
Really, I couldn't lose...(bout damn time). The table resizing is nice...
Quick question, (if), you get heads up in H/L, do both hands still count? LOL, I couldn't ask this to the table so I came here and asked..
stp
Good luck - my first stud tourney on Party(2 weeks ago) I got 2nd
I just finished an $11 Omaha sng (1st Place) practice for tomorrow
