Besides the 10+ casinos, the West Edmonton Mall and the bars on Whyte Ave., its boring! Poker seems to be 24hrs, but they shut down all their other games at 2am. The River cree would be the nicest casino there, the rest looks like Vegas downtown...run down.
A lot of poker rooms close down early their too. The Baccarat casino did not have 1-2 NO Limit at around 10 o'clock on a Saturday Night! They had 2-4 limit and 1-2 Pot limit Omaha and NO 1-2 NL Holdem! I couldn't believe it. But that's a problem, there are so many casinos are so spread out, that some times there's no action.
Yes, there are 10-15 casino in and around the edmonton area. I know a handful of ones that are open 24/7. (river cree, yellowhead etc.) Usually daily tournaments at all of them, sometimes got some CPT events held around here.
IMO River Cree is the best looking casion persay, as far as poker ettitquette goes, probably some of the worst around the city.
Also depends what kind of NL game you enjoy playing. If you like alot of action, big pots, and playing lots of hands I would probably suggest playing at some other casinos around the city.
