CPT events

Anyone know why there hasn't been any postings or upcoming Cpt events for 2008 except for the monthly Gbh tourneys and a few from Calgary?

  • because canadian casinos suck ass and refuse to post their tournaments as CPT events even though it costs them nothing to do it.

 I am trying to remain positive, but I can't disagree with your answer. There were a lot of Canadians in the Seneca Winter Challenge. Whenever I asked a table, usually at least half said they came from Canada, including my table in the $1,070 event. It seems that many have given up waiting for decent casino tournaments in Ontario, and will keep spending money in US casinos instead. :'(

In the $225 it was about 7 out of the final 10 were Canadian. Out of the final 5, 4 of us were and 3 of us were from the GTA area.

It is pretty sad when all the Canadian (and GTA) poker players are going over the border to play poker tournaments because we have nothing here, or they seek out underground games.
  • OLG really needs to get off their asses and address the needs of players. If you believe the numbers put forward by the OPP they could make a decent buck by openning more tables and having some better tournaments.

    Keep the money here.

Geez..what kind of crazy fool..would go all the way from Toronto (or Brampton) to play in a card game in Calgary?

Your better off just hanging out in the West Edmonton Mall.
    :)
  • It seems like the only place that holds CPT events is the Great Blue Heron Casino.....am I right?

So far that is correct (for Ontario), but it may change as the year goes on.
