Laptop repair

Looking for some advice on a repair to my laptop.

It's decent and I really dont want to throw it out, but the power adapter connection on the laptop is shot. I was planning on taking it apart and soldering the adapter onto the motherboard, but I can't find all the fkn screws to take it apart :( and am getting tilty.

Anyone here experience with taking apart laptops that could do this for me?

  • What brand is your laptop? The manuf's website would have the manual on how to take it apart..
  • It's a Compaq.
Checked the website and couldn't find anything.
  • I have done this on 2 laptops. The soldering isn't very hard once you get the thing open. They should really make this connection more durable. It is a frequen problem.

It is a horrible feeling when you have it all back together and 1 screw left over ..... almost as bad as having aces cracked ;)
  • I may have found a good starting site.
