Laptop repair

Looking for some advice on a repair to my laptop.

It's decent and I really dont want to throw it out, but the power adapter connection on the laptop is shot. I was planning on taking it apart and soldering the adapter onto the motherboard, but I can't find all the fkn screws to take it apart and am getting tilty.

Anyone here experience with taking apart laptops that could do this for me?

What brand is your laptop? The manuf's website would have the manual on how to take it apart..

It's a Compaq.
Checked the website and couldn't find anything.

I have done this on 2 laptops. The soldering isn't very hard once you get the thing open. They should really make this connection more durable. It is a frequen problem.

It is a horrible feeling when you have it all back together and 1 screw left over ..... almost as bad as having aces cracked
