late MTT
If this looks like a bbv post..just skip it. However it feels like forever since I've been deep.
About 1800 entrants, 16 left...10th-18th is $250..first is over 8 grand..I am slightly below average stack and the big stacks are pretty aggressive. I really don't want to call here...I want to fold vs. the big stacks and raise the smaller ones in the right spots, I'm likely not the most skilled player left... but I'm pretty far from the bottom.
I want to fold but can't.....Do I have any case for folding here? ty.

My point is pushing your stack is a good idea, but ive always wondered if I re-raised him in that position, maybe he would throw it away and I wouldn't get burnt.
16 left though, and you still have a relatively decent sized stack (M=17ish). personally, i think it would matter specifically on the villian's image. if he's aggressive i might call/raise. if he's tight i'd probably call/fold. AQ is a good starting hand, but i prefer starting the action preflop as opposed to following it. my advice would be to fold it and wait for a better opportunity (where you can start the action and be in control). you are not that short stacked that you have to risk your whole tournament on what is probably going to be a coin flip (or worse).
i feel that AQ is probably the most overplayed hand (besides AK perhaps). most of the time you're a slight underdog to a pocket pair or dominated by AK. unless it's down to maybe 4 or 5 players left (or less), i promised myself that i'd not go broke with AQ preflop (unless i'm obviously shortstacked and desperate).
folding has a few benefits: 1) possibly move up to the higher payout; 2) gives you another opportunity to dictate the action in the pot as opposed to reacting to it (i.e. it's better to make your opponents have to make tough decisions than you having to make them).
I push
