I must have been on Santa's naughty list this year...

When people asked me what I wanted for Xmas, I sent out a list of poker stuff that I wouldn't mind having. It was a list of books (2+2 and otherwise). Some of the titles include:

No Limit Hold'em: Theory and Practice
Professional No Limit Hold'em
Stoxtrader's book on Limit Hold'em
Collin Moshman's Sit N Go book

You get the idea....

So what did I get today? Nothing on my list. I did get something poker-related from my brother in-law.

Phil Helmuth's Hold'em Super Course: Basically, a box set of his 4 dvd's.....bought it at Best Buy for $17.98.

*sigh*..

  • Just as long as your thankful..........Merry Christmas!

    GO BUY THEM YOURSELF!
  • I never gave people a 'list' of what I wanted for Christmas perferring instead to see what interesting gifts they felt I'd enjoy. Last year (2006) my family INSISTED on me providing a list, so I spent some time crafting up a list that contained items in every budget and regional locale (for example my parents wouldn't order online so I also put stuff that I knew they would be able to find locally).

The big morning comes.... and not one gift I received was from that list. Not that I minded, but what was the point of asking me to make one??
  • I didn't really make a list, but I did tell my girlfriend that I could use a birdcage to carry around my chips. She declined right away telling me that she didn't want to be part of feeding my "addiction" to poker. She's jokingly worried that I'd become a degenerate poker player when married.

I don't bother with lists, just because I don't want them to feel bad if/when they don't get stuff on my list or to see me feel bad because I didn't get anything on my list. When my brother was probing me for information as to what I wanted, I didn't give any information to let them see what I could use. I doubt PokerRoom, or any other online sites have gift certificates for deposits, but that would definitely be something that would make me happy, since I have some time before going back to school in January!

But my family did get me stuff that I could use for poker though! They bought me a shirt with the frills that I need for dealing as well as black pants that I can use to wear when going out to deal. Last year, they bought me cufflinks. So I think they found an area that they can default to if they're stumped for gifts for me.

Good Christmas for me - I hope they enjoyed gifts that I got for them just as much too. Hope all of yours were good and that the New Year will be awesome!
  • hehe. I was on Santa's GOOD list this year. I had two things on my list and I got them both. Whoot! Imagine if I had made a longer list... :)
  • lol thats why I bought theory and practice, and 2 harrington books before xmas so if i did ask anyone to get them for me, nobody would screw it up :)
  • That's a good list - if you don't have it already, I recommend SSHE by Ed Miller, that is a tremendous book.
  • Yeah that's a good read-through that helped me out when I started to play 5-10 FL at Blue Heron. I remember one time I actually took the book with me just to quickly gloss over a couple of things before I walked in. Obviously I didn't walk in the casino with it....Walked out up a hundred after four hours, so it wasn't too bad.

Have to go through it again though as I probably have forgotten a good chunk of advice and haven't played a whole lot lately.

i have been looking for this book everywhere.. but no one has it.. it doesn't help that the only bookstore around is chapters.. or coles, which is basically chapters, and their selection is terrible. i could buy it online.. but by the time it gets here i'll be back at school and won't have the time.
