cpt event in calgary

if anyone out there lives in calgary, could you possibly find out some registration info for the CPT major events on oct. 29 and 30 (both NL)

i live in vancouver and i'd rather not call long distance if i don't have to...

specifically i'd like to know when/how i can register...and also if there is a limit on the number of participants; and if so, how many do they have so far

thanks in advance

oh ya, and the number is 403-287-1635 for the Cash Casino

  • Ok so I called the Cash casino and here is what I found out.

If you are from out of town you can call the Cash Casino and register by phone - you have to pay by VISA which is the only card they accept over the telephone.

They are running a 3 day tourney Oct.29,30,31 all games start @ 1pm.

Oct.29th: $225 NL with Re-buy's and Add On (dont know how much the re-buys or add ons are...sorry)

    Oct.30: $535 NL Freeze Out.

    Oct.31: $115 Limit Hold Em.

MAX is 121 people. And they expect to fill up. The lady I talked with said there are still a lot of seats open.

They do NOT yet have the registration forms for the CPT. She said to keep calling back, they will arrive soon.

They are running satellites for this tournament
Oct.1 - Oct.28th every day @ 1pm, $12 buy in with $10 rebuys for first 30mins - you get $500 in chips and must be under $501 for a rebuy. (I think this is NL but am not 100% sure of that)

Mon-Thur nights @ 7:30pm: $22 buy in ($500 in chips) with $10 rebuys for 30 mins. This is a NL Hold Em game.

    Hope that helps.

    Good luck !

  • Why the heck don't the Ontario casinos do something like this for the CPT!!??? Those sateltite tourney's are an excellent idea. And what's with the Ontario CPT events being mid-week or on mondays at 12:00pm!!????? I'd love to be able to play poker full time and attend these poorly scheduled CPT events, but unfortunately I don't have that luxury. The CPT & Casinos should realize that if they really want this tour to fly, they need to schedule at least SOME events on weekends......or at least schedule some in the evening (7pm start), so the 9 to 5ers can make these events!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  • Agreed! CPT events on the weekends would be an awesome idea.
  • thanks a lot for the info, its appreciated

Because Ontario Casinos like to rake as much money as they can by keeping all the tables filled, when there is usually 4-5 tables on the side that are neevr in use. :P
  • those sattielites are nice, i just won mine into the saturady $535 NL tourny, should be fun to play with some big timers
  • As of today, or maybe a couple days ago Calgary is sold out. FYI.
