Another overpair hand question.
Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is MP2 with :ks :kc
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, MP1 folds, Hero 3-bets, 3 folds, BB caps, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.
Flop: :ts :jh :jd (9.4SB, 3 players)
Yuck this is a super dangerous board, with that horrid TJ combination again.
But the only way to get info is to bet right?
So is it time to get off the boat?BB bets, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.
Turn: :9h (7.7BB, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls, BB calls.
Is there where I should have bet folded?
River: :8c (13.7BB, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls, BB calls.
Results:
Final pot: 16.7BB

Agreed. It might sound weak, but I also don't hate flat calling the flop either and reevaluating the turn. If It was bet in front of me, I'd be more inclined to raise on the hope of getting a hand like AK or AQ behind me to fold for 2 cold not closing the action. But since you can't protect your hand here and there are going to be a ton of cards you hate on the turn A, Q, 9, I'd prefer to keep the pot smaller here as it can make your decision making easier on the turn.
The problem as I see it is that when you bet the turn and face the CR, that stupid ugly little gutshot you picked up, plus the fact the pot is now excessively bloated, makes it much more difficult to lay your hand down to the CR for one bet getting like 14:1.
River as I see it is a pretty clear fold since it's a protected pot, and you don't close the action either.
