Goals 2008 -
Well I did not start the thread however, I have been thinking about these goals alot since seeing the internet wiz bang kids at turning stone.
I played these kids, and I know I am better .... if I want to be.
1) Make $150K a year from poker. This sounds outrageous, however, if I want to go pro I have to be earning more then my regular job. If results from November part time are reflective, then this is very attainable. Recently making the move to 2/5 live and 2/4 online has made a great deal of difference and the avg of 2hours a day is very profitable. It would seem the money actually means something at these levels.
2) Make the move to 5/10NL. This is mostly an ego thing. That is the 'big' game, I hate playing at anything less then the 'big' game. However, being wired as I am, just wanting to get there should drive me to be much better.
3) WSOP - At least 3 events including the main event.
4) Set up a blog for comedy/poker motivational speaking
5) Triathalon, I am going to enter the Binbrook Try-a-tri. This is a 400m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km. This brings on alot of other issues - currently I would need to lose at least another 50lbs to be competitive. I am sure I could do this distance now, but I would be last and that isn't good enough for me.
6) Read 60, this is 8 better then my 1 a week from this year. However the knowledge I have gained has been tremendous.
7) Have one international - outside of North America fishing trip. An adventure New Zealand, Kamchatcha, Chile... I am going somewhere exotic.
8) 1 session a day of a CD, video, or tape of motivational speaking, training etc. Ie Personal Power, The Success Formula, How to win Friends etc
So that's it... easy huh?

thats right mang
What kind of shape are you in now? Height, weight wise.
If you are in any kind of shape at all you should make your goal to be a sprint triathlon.
I swim an hour a day now, riding the 10k no prob, but I am a horrible runner.
Doing them all in one day is going to be a huge challenge.
Anyone wanna go $1000 that I will finish in the top 50%?
I'm already a winning player My stats tell me this but occasionally I have alcohol fueled lapses in judgement that set me way back. Not a big deal as I've only made one deposit in my life and have been playing off of that for the past 3 years. But anyway, my goal in 2008 is to never play drunk and see where I end up.
By the way congrats on the weight loss, speaking for myself losing weight is a way tougher goal then anything poker related. I'm down 40 myself back to my highschool weight of 175

I am a headhunter, so I sell people and opportunity. It is sales, sorta.
Do you do IT headhunting?
If so, I'll be talking to you come the end of March.
