Okay, I am going to get my parents one for Xmas. They are not avid travellers but being from up north, would use it down here, in the US for travel, etc.

Can anyone recommend one that is of good quality and expected price roughly?

I have been looking too. However do not have much experience with them. Leaning towards a Nuvi. Magellan and TomTom are also rated well. Looking in the $199-$250 range. Probably going to snap one up on boxing day.
