Poker Magazines

Okay, so I have been out of the loop for a while. Why can't I find any poker magazines at places like Chapters and others. Am I blind or are they gone?

Comments

  • I was in chapters on Weber last week, they seemed to have everything.
  • Interesting...I was in the big Chapters in Toronto and I couldn't find a single one.
  • I'll vouch for that.

Impossible to find Cardplayer or Bluff in the GTA anymore.

Walmart carries "Canadian Poker Player"....if you're looking to waste your money.
  • Bluff Magazine sells at my local 7/11 in south etobicoke..they used to carry the Canadian Poker player..now they don,t
  • Andrew, just ask them for whatever you want- they will stock it.

Even my local Sobey's got all the poker mags I wanted, I just requested them from the manager... if they can do it, Chapters is sure to.
  • The Chapters in Waterloo stopped selling Card Player about a year ago. After being told they were just sold out for about 3 months I finally asked a manager to confirm that they still sold it. After checking his order lists or whatever, he finally apologized and said that I was right, they stopped carrying it. They do still carry Bluff, Poker Pro, All In, and Canadian Poker Player (Which is not that bad of a magazine, just less flash and a little too much info about people we don't really care about).

He never really offered to restock it, so you've got a pretty good Sobey's Kristy. I guess Vagina's are useful for all sorts of things! :)
  • I guess I will go to the Sobey's by Kristy. I don't live in Toronto, I just work there and always want to read one on my train home. I am not a big Fan of Canadian Poker Player. The articles are just a little too boring. Unless they had a big article on Sir Watts!
  • Cardplayer is no longer available in newsstands. Avoid the hassle, Bluff subs are cheap now with the exchange.
  • How often does Card Player magazine come out? The last issue I read was November 7 with 18-year old WSOP winner "Annette_15" on the cover. How is the "casino edition" different from the one I would buy in a US store?

Canadian Poker Player is the magazine I read the most because it covers the Canadian tournaments and players. My favourite regular contributors are Gavin Smith, Marc Karam, Tony Guerrera (Killer Poker by the Numbers), Richard Marcus (Dirty Poker and the World's Greatest Gambling Scams), and the Official CPT Results showing the names of people that I have played with.
  • Look for a place called "Magazine World". It's one of the biggest selections of Magazines in general in the GTA. Last time I was there it was about 2 months ago, but they had Bluff, Cardplayer and maybe 1 other title.
  • Card Player and Bluff Magazines are at my local store in Alliston. They always have them. That's weird that big stores wouldn't since this is a little convenience store on the corner.
