Hi Guys! From Toronto

Hi Guys,

Steve here from Toronto. I just came across this site and i really like it. It is very well done. I may be interesting in adveretising on here. LOL.

Anyway I am the owner of the website. www.getfreepokercash.com

I have had it online for about 2 weeks, and it is going fantastic.

I live in Toronto and am interested in meeting some new folk, and get some games going. I will actually sponser games. live games. freerll type deals.

I also own another site livefreerolls.ca that is in development.

Anyways I am please to say its going well. Please come by and check it out.

Tell me what you think. it started as a project to get Canadians especially in Ontario to meet locally and play poker for free, nd have the poker rooms pay for it.
Now it has turned into an international type place. Mot of my members are European playing under my team.

All Canadains are very welcome, and i encourage anyone to ask me questions about the live freeolls i plan to have in Canada.

If anyone is interested in helping such as dealing, setting up, know locations, players let me know. Either message me here or visit my site and send me a message there.

I look forward to meeting some of you in the coming months.

Have fun always when playing poker.

Oh By the way.. All events, all games i do are completely free..and prizes paid by poker rooms.

Come visit .

  • Well, I suppose your standard Canadian affiliate spam is worth more now vs the American dollar, though it still is basically less then what can be had via more established and reputable affiliates (no intent to question your significant 2 week history in the industry).

Also, you will find DOING all of the things you suggest (live games freerolls etc) is quite a bit different from saying you plan on doing them. Many before you have come here, spam, and left and as stated earlier - other more established affiliates are already doing it anyways.
  • Thanks for your comment. i appreciate it. Was just trying to become part of your geoup here, i like it.

No intent to be spammy... just wanted to invest my time for my fellow canadian players..

I really want to do this for the players, but if they are not intereted thats ok...

Any other ides you have would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks mate
  • Sure some quick pointers.

    - Specifically mentioning your website within 3 lines of your post means you are a routine spammer. Maybe you think you are not trying to be spammy , but seriously your post as is is pure spam.

    - Suggesting you have plans to run tournaments/freerolls/etc without actual specific information (ie: a specific date/poker room/place etc) means there is approximately a 99.99% chance that they will never happen based on history of spam style affiliates. I have no doubt you want them to happen, you intend for them to happen. Realistically, they likely never will.

Being nice and from Toronto is fine and dandy but in the end that is of little value to players.

Look at Poker Source Online and Raketherake to see what established successful affiliates offer their customers (first one is more gift based for signing up for rooms, second is pure rakeback based but runs lots of actual freerolls).

    Hope this helps.
  • Thanks for your comments, all are wwel taken. I will refrain from mentioning my website at all until I am told I am allowed them. I didnt think mentioning it was going to casue this much havoc. I was simply trying to find out how people would see it. I got my answer. WOW!! I nevrer have come across so much aggression. But its understandable since so much spam is around.

i see your point!! Its interesting, one fellow claims all poker related money transaction are illegal. I dont get it. If you advertise home games here as rake free, then those are considered illegal as well?

I dont get it!! Anyway I truly am sorry for posting a spam. I assume all home games advertised are spam.

99.9 percent. Ok well have to work on that percentage a bit. Maybe i can put a dent in it.

Being nice is just natural. Someone being positive and nice is of great value.
To much negativaty going on, and not much time to really worry about it.

I have seen those sites, your right very nice and offer good things. As a new person in the industry its always nice to get feedback. I am sure they started one place in the beginning. Have to crawl before you can walk.
Have to breath before we can speak. I simply took a breath. LOL

Ill be here alot dont worry, i wont be 1 of those guys who come on make a claim, then leave. Even if its just to prove I am a genuine person willing to spend all my time for poker players to get together and play. Most pofit from it goes back to players anyway. Any organizer who does this for a living needs to put food on his table.
I guess Karioke may be considered ilegal? From this other guys perspective.
I mean if you walk down the street and decide to go in to bar, buying a pop. The bar profits. Bowling alleys maybe the same idea.
Are we still allowed to play cards??
Can anyone come here and be nice and try and organize an event and get some people involved to make it a community project? Maybe not.

Well enough from me. I can keep going for days and months. Ill save some for another day.

Thanks man. for your replies, they mean alot.
  • Havoc is a bit of an overstatement. Look at it this way, how do you treat the 100th or 1000th type of telemarketer that calls you even if he/she is "nice."

The affiliate business is a very, very saturated one and every day these boards and others constantly get spammed by people with various websites they want people to look at. That is why nearly all of the online poker rooms have eliminated observer chat at the cash games, it was basically non stop affiliate spam.

99.9 percent was optimistic. So far not a single one of the many, many claims of running freerolls, having live events etc that have been posted here by new affiliate businesses has ever happened, so while 0% is probably a more accurate assessment, I figure add a small amount for the you never know factor.

All of your crawl before you walk, "genuine person" angle, most profit goes back to the players belief, organizer needs to put food on table comments simply show a lack of a thought out plan. Leave out random bizarre comments based on Karioke.

Obviously a business needs to make money, but you are competing against others who already have the size and reputation to have better deals from the poker rooms, thus they can offer better advantages to their players. Saying you need to crawl first before you run does not differentiate you, it just means you offer less.

No doubt you are a nice person, but this isn't a type of business that is based on nice guy loyalty. If you offer no rakeback, or offer very uncompetitive benefits there really is no reason why a poker player will sign up with you, unless it is a friend/family doing it because they like you.

"Are we still allowed to play cards??

    1) This really is not the ideal approach to this industry unless you plan on running small fun tournaments for friends and family.

    2) You are not the 1st, 2nd or even 100th person to try this approach, which is why you will likely get minimal response. Spam (even unintentional variety) is not effective in this business any more, and probably never was. Most posts like your initial one get deleted by the way by the moderators.

You may find my responses a bit gruff, but the alternative would be basically no response , or a quick flame. Try your initial post on a bunch of poker forums and see for yourself.

My suggestions (serious) would be the following:

    - Develop a business plan. You do not have one.

    - Plan and offer specific benefits, vague ones have no value. Your freeroll ideas for example where you say "poker rooms will pay for them" or will be held live would benefit from specifics. Which poker room, which place live?

    - Be nice but do not expect that to be the way to differentiate yourself. Poker affiliate business is about money and professionalism.
  • I think you missed 2 or 3 13Cards. Keep looking, they aren't hard to find.
