Does anyone win at $0.5/$1.00 anymore?

I can't seem to come up from my 'down slump.' What the Fvck is wrong with me? I'm playing 0.5/1 at partypoker. And i'm getting tastless cards all night long. I play something, and nothing good ever flops. At least my drawing hands are winning, but still. The blinds (yes! the fvcking blinds) are chewing my stack. I began with $50, up to 80, down to 20, up to 40, currently starving at $14.75. :banghead: TILT!

help

  • I find that $0.5/$1.00 is the only table I can make money at (and usually it is only like $10 or $15 at the most). Also when I play $0.5/$1.00 I usually only play with $10/$15 and look only to play for an hour. I find when I move up to $2/$4 I just keep getting bad beats.

I find that most of my success comes from single table tournaments (usually the $5 or $10).

(Sometimes I think the game is out to get me)
  • I've been doing well at that limit lately. The main thing is to wait for good cards and accept the bad beats when they come, since there'll be lots of them. If you stay patient then eventually you'll come out on top since by chasing their runner-runner draws people are really just paying you off in the long run.

That doesn't sound like a truthful statement when you follow it with

Holy moley, are you playing on a 4-bet preflop/flop/turn/river table or something? 4 tables at a time? How many hours of play is that? +30BB to -60BB to -10BB sounds to me like you actually need to 1) tighten up or 2) be less agressive when the flop doesn't hit you better (your top pair losing to a set and you may be costing yourself extra bets). The blinds only account for .75c / orbit so swing like that aint from them..

Anyway, I suggest you think about the hands you played and be honest. Was it really a bad run of cards (a path we've all been down) or were you caught overplaying marginal hands? Maybe you'll find a leak somewhere or you'll come to the conclusion (a la hork42) that the play was good..
