TV - Who has the best poker coverage?

Recently Rogers has changed the channel CGTV to GTV. It used to be mostly poker programs and now it is game shows so I'm planning to switch providers.

Can anyone recommend which provider has the most poker coverage: Rogers, Bell Xpressvu, etc? Also, which channels to watch for.

Thanks

  • GSN (Game Show Network) has, by far, the best poker show on TV....High Stakes Poker. I believe they are also the new home for the WPT (which means we might actually see new episodes, not the ones from 2 seasons ago that City shows on Sunday).

Otherwise, you'll catch some poker content on TSN.

For the most part, televised poker is drying up.

    I have GSN on Rogers.

I think City TV is showing the WPT tourney won by Nenad Medic this Sunday, assuming their rotation keeps to form.

What channel is that on and with what provider? Or do you have trouble reading the title of the post?

TV - Who has the best poker coverage?
  • People still watch tv?

    /g2
  • Which means if you stay on Rogers, and have digital (which you do because you had cgtv) you get all of hte sportsnet channels east, west, ontario, central, so you can catch the poker pretty much any time of day on one of those.

    I say stick with rogers.

Way to ruin the ending!! There goes my sunday afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00. :)

    :P
  • I think all those channels are available with Rogers/Cogeco except possibly the US Fox and Travel channels. I have never seen Heartland Poker Tour, or WPT on the Travel channel. SEXTV does have WPT repeats though - not that I subscribe to that channel or anything. >:D

My favourite poker show is the WSOP coverage with the hilarious Norman Chad, except I'm not usually home to watch it on TSN or ESPN.

  • I can't believe how few poker shows there are now on TV. If there was nothing good to watch on TV as usual, there was at least a poker show on Game TV or Sportsnet, etc., but now there is no poker to watch. The worst poker show ever is TSN's Pokerstars.net Charity Poker with the hockey players. The graphics are so small that it is difficult to see any of them. It's the only poker show I have ever seen where I can't make out the cards, so I gave up and watched True Hollywood Story instead! :-[
