Casino Rama Fall Classic 2007

The annual Casino Rama Fall Classic is on December 3. See http://www.casinorama.com/pdfs/0860_001.pdf & http://www.casinorama.com/games_tournaments.aspx.

I wish I could post positive things about this $1,000+$100 event which I enthusiastically played in last year, but unfortunately, I can't. The prize pool last year was over $500,000, but it is a maximum $132,000 this year. Rama has not bothered to register this as a Canadian Poker Tour event for free.

It had a Skill Level of 5 and Patience Factor of 9.6 last year, but the new blind schedule has a S.L. of only 4 and P.F. of 7.3. :'( At blind level 5, the cost per round almost triples! To compare, the $540 and $1,100 tournaments at Casino Brantford have the highest possible S.L. of 6. Great Blue Heron Casino's rebuy tournament next month will cost you only $540 to have the same S.L. of 4. I know of several $30-$60 club tournaments that offers more poker play than this $1,100 tournament.

One thing hasn't changed from last year - the $160 satellites still have the lowest possible Skill Level of 0. :-[ Needless to say, I have no plans to play at Casino Rama.

Comments

  • Wonder why the ante start so high early in the levels.
  • I will be playing in the Fall Classic - won a seat on my first satellite.
  • My brother and I will be there too, have I met you before KRT? Have you been to any of the West Side events? Just to clarify, I used to be MDSGuy, but now that name makes me projectile vomit.

Regardless, good luck and hopefully we can meet up before or after for a victory beverage. Winner buys.
  • See you and Trevor there - I guess drinks are on me.
(we've played at Acid Joe's tournies and maybe RC1&2)
