Besides Watts, who are the other forumers that made it from day 1a?
  • gl Xuan, Rob, and whoever else is playing today.
  • I forgot their names, but I saw one player who went to the Georgetown tournaments before and another player who I have seen at West Side Poker Club tournaments.

At least four of the players I recognized from the Casino Brantford's Ultimate Poker Challenge made it. One of them took out Kenna James and doubled up through Barry Greenstein as described in the link, and has around 77,000 chips.

Along with Dead Money and Royal Cup player xx23, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow and John Juanda may be playing today.

  • I was down there a couple hours ago and railed DeadMoney and xx23 for a little bit, although I don't think either saw me. A lot more tables going (since it's early) compared to last night, so the rail was a lot further back. DeadMoney had a couple players at his table who I recognized but can't place their names (maybe Rob will post it later), so maybe a tougher draw than normal.

I did see John Juanda, Kathy Leibert, Justin Bonomo, David Pham and Jeff Madsen playing. I also bumped into Freddy Deeb in the hallway and chatted for a minute (he's a really friendly guy). Not sure whether I'll get back there tonight to check things out tonight, but it's been nice to see friends playing in the big tournies. I hope Rob an Xuan both make it to Monday ;) - good luck!
  • Daniel Negreanu and I are both playing tomorrow
  • Saw Barry Greenstein playing at one of the two 50-100 NL tables at Fallsview Saturday night (min $5000 buyin, no max...). High stakes poker indeed.
  • Sorry, I posted this in the other thread, but this is where it belongs.

Well, I am still in......... sort of. Sitting with 13600. Took some ugly beats towards the end of the day. My high chips for the day was 34K at the diner break. 6 hours of tough poker followed.

Welcome to push or fold poker!
  • GL building that stack on Day 2.

What is your feel on the experience? Or is it just like a big Ching Hill?

Couldn't possibly be THAT good, could it? ;)
  • skipping fallsview because of a retarded rule that doesn't allow people to register after 11am today(the day of the event)...

I loved my first table, many pros and some loose play. By the first break our table was closed, and I sat at a very tough table. We didn't loose a player until after dinner. The hole night we only lost 4....very tough poker.

That's weird... According to Card Player, they let people register until 2pm on day 1c.

    Official Player Count
There are 161 players registered for today and registration will be open for 20 more minutes. That number would put the official total player count at 504. Last year, 497 players entered the event and created a first-place prize of $1,352,000. Expect a slight increase over that for this year's event.
  • Choron....nice to see you took advantage of the four days of registration. Oh, and you could register till the end of the first level.
  • Why didn't someone on the phone tell me that then? They told me registration for Sunday's day 1c closed @ 11am...So I decided not to go, clearly there is a communication issue here...My friend who I was staking in the NAPC was right next to me to hear them say the 11am bit as well...
  • PS I spoke directly with the poker room...
