Changes in game and players depending on time of day and day of week

I'm thinking that the games might be softer during the day during the week as all the gamboolers come out during the day and are off to eat their blue plate specials by 5. I also think the grinders (that work) will be at their day jobs dreaming about playing cards. Any truth to my theory? Can someone who has experienced different days of the weeks and times of day please comment?

  • this makes sense to me (although i don't play b&m often enough to know for sure). i've had similar ideas in relation to online games as well. feels like during the day it's mostly the grinders, afternoon is when the fish come to play, and late at night the serious players make their appearance. this is, however, completely speculation.
  • Don't forget to consider time zones and the location of your opponents.

  • I know the few times I have played at Rama during a week day, I see the same faces and I would consider these guys grinders. They are all pretty young so not sure if they work nights or this is a full time job for them.

If I'm in the same room as them, I'd assume the time zone and location would be identical?? :)

  • Somebody posted awhile ago that hitting the casino super early (like 4-5am) was the best time to make money. All the players are pretty tilty and fatigued.

Not sure about the B&M's here but for sure in Vegas this is true.. I can vouch for it.. Especially if your not a drinker yourself...

Haha, this is pretty true. Even good players get into the tilt/fatigue trap at times. One time we stayed until 12 noon because my buddy was stuck $1 K & didn't wanna leave, it kept getting worse (he's a pretty consistent winner at 5/5 NL).
