  • Try changing the wireless channel on the router.
You'll need to look in your doc on how to do that.

You may be getting interference from Cordless phones or other wireless routers.

What Frequency does the wireless run on?
  • The wireless will be 2.4GHz... if you have a cordless phone that runs on 2.4GHz that would cause your wireless to cut out anytime the phone is in use.

Try updating the wireless drivers on your computer and firmware for your wireless card.

  • Agreed. Sounds like interference.

If you turn off your router and then set your wireless card to look for networks, do you see a ton of them? You need to find a channel between 1-11 for your network to operate on. If two use the same one, then they start conflicting.

If you see a network at 1 and 6 then use 11.. The more space between them the better.
  • You can download netstumbler to do the search too.

I find it works better than the windows search.
