  • Thanks for the heads up
  • Not a problem... Our pleasure!!!
  • how does this structure rate? starting M of 20, probably not very good. How long are the blind levels?
  • The blinds increase every 11 hands.
  • Do these satalites run everyday or only on select days of the week?
  • These satellites will run Monday thru Thursdays
  • This format reminds me of our drunken Thursday night poker nights in Gilford. For $300 I'm sure a better format could be found.
  • LOL donkaments!

Don't judge just yet, we don't know how many chips = a piece

    so 60 chips = a piece and you get 60 pieces, that's 3600 chips...not bad at all

My bad..its 60 pieces...and the blinds schedule are by pieces and not chips...
  • I was hesitant about posting a very negative review of GBH's structure, but since some members are confused, here is my 2¢ contribution.

Each player only gets 60 chips. Given a reasonable assumption that it will take around 20 minutes for every 11 hands, the Patience Factor is 2.3 and the Skill Level is only 1. In GBH's $100 SNGs, you only get 40 chips but the blind schedule is not as bad, and the Patience Factor works out to be the same. -ev is correct that this is a -EV "donkament" similar to many clubs, except this one costs $300! OLG GBH interestingly uses the same profit target as the commercial casinos in wanting to earn ~$100/hour/table, so it wants the satellite to end within two hours. The rake is reasonable at 6.1%.

From a player's perspective, one would be much better off waiting for Casino Brantford's $55 +$EV MTT satellites, or playing in a rake-free home game satellite. As part of my WPT preparations, I am playing in several Skill Level 6 or 5 tournaments this week, and they all cost less than $300 TOTAL! For those who choose to gambool in this casino satellite and get lucky enough to win, I would be interested in buying their seat.
