Foxwood WPT 2007 - Oct 22 - Nov 13

Anybody playing in these tournaments? Probably the closest WPT events to the GTA that are more affordable than the WPT Niagara $10K tournament. Everything from stud to omaha and $300 buy-ins to $10k.

Might be worth the five hour drive to take a shot.

  • I was preparing to play the WPT NAPC at the end of this month, but I didn't know that there's so many tempting alternatives. I would prefer Seneca Casino's October Pokerfest to driving five hours to Foxwoods. By the way, only the $10K NLHE tournament starting on November 7 is a WPT event.

I am also considering playing at the Great Blue Heron Casino's $200 rebuy tournament or the $3.75 million BC Poker Championships at River Rock Casino Resort from November 18-25. Any forumer interested in carpooling to Port Perry on Wednesday, November 14?

To bad us Canadian players get raked an extra 30%
  • Looks like I'm heading down for the 2k,3k, 5k and then the 10K main event. The 10K is a WPT event not sure what blondefish meant.
  • With the WPT NAPC final table beginning at 5 PM on November 2, you might not finish in time to make it to Foxwoods' $2K event the next morning at 10 AM. :) Good luck!

  • the Seneca tournaments are definitely more affordable but I still need to confirm the blinds and level times for the cheaper tournaments (500, 700). Definitely a lot closer than Foxwood. If I have to worry about a 30% withholding tax, that is a positive sign. Any forum members playing in the Octoberfest tournaments?
  • If you do find out about the blind structure pokerJAH, do let us know. The level times are 30 min. I'm thinking of playing the $330 buy-in one myself.

Also, what happens if a Canadian does happen to cash in these events? Do you get the 30% tax back after filling out some forms?
