Please...I need your advice.....
Hello folks,
This is my first post and I'm looking for any thoughts and advice that you may have regarding poker and bankroll management. Before I begin, it's seems a little strange being an Englishman from Newcastle Upon Tyne (North England) posting on a Canadian board (not sure why that is!!).
Anyway, 8 nights ago I started with a bankroll of $40 dollars and have been playing various S&G tournaments, some 6 man, some 10-man. A full week has passed and I now have over $800. I have put in 12 hours at the tables (i'm recording everything) so guess in theory that I have, so far made, $67 per/hour. Is that good? I started doing a couple of $3 10-man, then $6 10-man, moving onto $11 10-man and then I've been dabbling in $22 and $33 6-man tournaments. I have played approximately 28 games, won 15, placed in 6 and not won a bean in 7 games. Any suggestions as to natural progression onwards/upwards/backwards/sideways? Should I lower me games stake entry??

How may tables are you running at once. 28 games in 12 hours (with 15 wins) seems kind of low.
As bankroll mgmt, I like to use about 5% of my bankroll, so in your case you'd be playing $40 S&G. Like others have said, there is alot of info on BR mgmt out there.
Nice run...get some $ out before variance bites you in the ass.
If that is truly your record, take out a second mortage on your house and start play 6 man 2000 sit n gos on stars. Winning more than 50 percent of the sit n go you enter without getting bad beat, you will easly make a living play poker.

PS You know 67.00 an hour is good, why ask.
enjoy...they say you shouldn't play with more than 10% of your bankroll...so think of that buy in and calculate how high you table should be (in term of big blinds).
generally people will buy in with 200 on a 1/2 no limit table...if that helps gauge table size.
