Why don't you try the job bank, workopolis, monster, and all those other great places to find people. The people on this site are people who want to play poker or think they can play poker (Like Moose). The only way these people want to make money at poker is by winning it (or they lose it like Moose) at a WPT, WSOP, and any other event. This is not a job board

From what you are describing you are to cheap to go through the proper channels to recruit people. Hmm commission means you lack confidence in the success of your business. Most established companies who recruit sales professional gives some form of base salary plus expenses. Sounds like a bs opportunity.
Actually, on second thought I have some peanuts and bar snacks that if anyone is interested in selling at their next home game or tournament drop me a PM. Its a commission position so the more you sell, the more $$ you earn. Not having a home game? Bug someone who is! For your convience you should have an inventory of snacks. To establish this inventory you can do this for as little as $300. I accept paypal or cash.

I am President and CEO of this company. I cannot do this all on my own. For the record we are offering 5 dollars cash to every person referred to my league by a Rep. we hire. Give me one good reason why I would pay someone a salary plus expenses to go and get there friends to sign up in the league. I am not cheap I am a smart Business man. When you make bogus statements like you do, it makes me realize why people in the world are just not cut out to be in business on their own. This is quite simply an initiative for the players of the league. They are playing for a 12000.00 poker package plus they can also earn cash just by referring friends and people they know to our league. This is not rocket science and there is no tricks to it. Once we agree with the person we hire and set them up in the referral page they get paid simple as that. Apparently you are too ignorant to realize a good opportunity when it is presented to you. You should start paying as much attention to your poker game as you do with these forums.

We are a partnered company this is not an affilate system. We have an agreement with an online poker company that is giving us the rights to use their software for this upcoming league. When you see our ad in Bluff Magazine let me know if you still think we are affilated with a poker company?
Do you really think we are going to take the time and money to put into a business and than affilate with them and hire reps. Do the math!! We would make pennys. I have better things to do than affilate with a company.
By advertising for these sales positions we benefit from the massive sign ups making it a successful poker league. The reps will in turn have a chance to earn money on the side for simply just referring people to the league.

1. We are not affiliated. If I was do you not think there would be poker company banners all over my site for people to sign up on. You act like you know what you are talking about but make no sense!
2. I have an agreement with a poker company and gave them exclusive rights to my site and be the main tournament sponsor on my site in return they allow me to use their software for this Texas Holdem Leage. Where on my site have you seen me asking you to sign up to different poker companies? Also in order to make money as an affiliate you need players ot make real money deposits. Where do you see me asking for deposits. (Nowhere) Guess I am going broke paying people to bring people to my site and sign up but not add money to their account!
3. Go to school and study before you make retarded statements. Learn the difference between a Partnership and an Affiliation. You will see that partnerships pay monthy fees no matter what happens. With an affialite program you are on commission.
4. I am absolutly blown away by the fact of how this community looks at potential opportunities and tosses them to the curb. If you all took 10 minutes and read what this site is doing you may uderstand the process. This is a poker league I designed it for people who do not want to use real money so that they have a chance to earn real money plus a seat at the WSOP if they win. Yes I would like to have everyone in canada Sign up and play in it. Its free why would you not. There is no scheme. If you do not want to ask some friends to sign up and play in the league fine. This is fine with me I am not complaining nor am I going to spam people looking for it. If you are interested fell free to drop by when this tournament launches and sign up and play for yourself if not that is ok.
5. This is going to be a really neat league. It is based over a season and people earn points based on their finishes. Check out the TWOB league section to see all the rules and conditions. Again you are playing through my site not an affiliated site. This is my tournament! I created the rules and conditions.
6. Yes I agree we will be using another companies software. But I am not going to spend 300000.00 for the first tournament to purchase poker software . That is just a stupid business move.
7. I posted this add thinking that there may be some people out there who would like to play in a Poker League and if they refer people to it make some money that is it! This is a great chance to meet alot of new people and have a chance to win a seat at the WSOP. My site is geared towards having fun playing poker. I love the game myself and play it every night. I did not think that there was this many immature people around. I am not trying to scam you. I was looking for a way to generate a large amount of people to play in the tournament. That is all. The more the better. Why in the world, you all have to go on about stuff you do not have a clue about blows my mind. You are not an owner of this company you have no idea what the business plan is or even what the process is for recruiting people to the league. You are all so quick to react it makes no sense. Read ask questions understand something before you jump ahead and start making comments about something you have no idea about.
I invite you all to play in the league if you do not want to ask people to sign up thats fine. It will be a great couple of months and I hope you all do well in it. Other than that I will not comment on this anymore and you are free to make your own decisions. It is beyond my control I just wish that before you make comments you understand the process of something first!

It just occured to me how you roll. The two of you make bogus posts all day talking about whatever you can possible think of, half of it is just pathetic so that you can boost up your CPF points. Since you both lack so much confidence in your poker game and lost your shirts over the years this is the only way you two can get into a real money game. Keep on posting boys because I am not sure if you realized it yet you had the opportunity to reccomend people to my site and make a few dollars. When you decide you are interested let me know! Than again I guess this league will be off the internet and will be a forgotten about venture going by your predictions. Send me an email and let me know what your opinion is on the league and how it is a pathetic idea and how you think I am out to scame people better yet post it in here so everyone has the chance to realize just how pathetic both of you are I I had anything to hide I would never be as open as I am in every post I made so far. Do I believe you are a "scammer?" No, not really.
Do I believe your idea is innovative or creative or earth shattering? Frankly no.
This whole league concept you invented has been and is being done all over already. Here in Toronto there are a couple of leagues that do exactly as you suggest your idea is, and the tournaments take place at local pubs. Others already do this online as well.
Does that mean the idea is impossible to pull off? No, not really but it certainly is difficult in an overexposed industry and to do so you really need to use some creative thought and to show where some actual benefit is to the people funding it as well as the players.
Drop the whole - it's free so why wouldn't people want to do it belief structure. Attending time share pitches are free as well and you get a free lunch with it, how many would you go to?
Drop the fake title thing. You are not a CEO. You are not a President. Your "corporate headquarters" are not the 40th floor of the TD Center (guessing your bedroom
Recognize that any business that relies on spamming message boards (whether you believe it to be spam or not) to attract users/customers is flawed. If you cannot figure out why then yikes.
The way you write shows that you lack any real business training, and this too will take away from the attractiveness of your pitch. Also, try to call fewer people retards - that too does not convey a very professional image.
I will give you a couple of quick examples.
Poker Source Online - I joined many years ago. In fact I was the 40th person to join or so. I was impressed by their professionalism and how they provided a benefit to the player signing up through them and how they had a plan to grow and they were very open with their customers. Years ago I posted that I expected good things from them.
Now they have tens of thousands of customers and continue to grow. They had a good plan in a competitive industry and offered a different type of benefit (through their store) that appealed to many newer players. Since then they have adapted to the industry and they offer more rakeback offers and have set up partnerships with Florida Jacks to offer their chip sets etc. All simple ideas that keep their business fresh and up to date (note aside from a few freerolls I have not used them in a long time).
The flip side was a guy who posted his idea of signing people up. When I asked what benefit to any player he offered that PSO or other affiliates did not already he had no answer.
Same here with you, what does your league offer that the many leagues already out there do not?
Again, I am not saying your idea is impossible to pull off (though 3+ years ago it would have had a MUCH better chance). I do think it will face difficulties due to a general lack of interest, and your whole approach and attitude so far here really do not give a professional confidence either.

The only reason I decided to not keep going with this thread was because I am spending alot of time answering questions that I do not need to answer. If you don't like the structure than so be it i am cool with that. I do love the game of poker and want to do everything I can to bring a fun League to all Canadian Poker Players. If it is a question that is legit I will answer all others I am not paying attention to. Not sure if anyone seen my other post but since there is so many views on this topic I was just wondering why canadians cannot sign up on Bodog? I hope you all sign up to the league!

Part of the process is to make people understand what it is you are offering. Spam is offering something to people to who really don't care all that much. After some railing on this thread you have given more details to what it is you are doing. You were not exactly forthright with this information.
Tip be direct and and state the benefits. Recognize though that there are freerolls round the clock at several poker sites. Alot of competition. Full Tilt has freerolls to win an 18K aussie package. Can't argue with free. Sure maybe this forum will accuse those players of being donks but what can be said about freerolls, they're free. There are sites that tally the number of poker playing sites - Over 450!!! talk about competition. I have tried alot of poker software and to be honest alot them I quickly unload because they are garbage.
What you are saying sounds interesting a poker league designed with a seat to a WSOP event. Is it really free, what's the catch?? The problem here you are like a middle man where alot of poker sites are already offering satellites for as little as 6 cents to other satellites for you to win entry to one of these WSOP events. I am not really sure what you have over site likes full tilt and poker stars. If I should win some money from a freeroll I could use this money to enter these 6 cent satellites to bigger satellites which could also turn into a seat for one of these tournaments. All free buddy.

This is a better approach to at least introduce yourself then calling others retards and yourself a CEO. You sound like a young kid who likes poker who has an idea of something he/she would like to do. Nothing wrong with that and go with that as a starting point instead of this "Dave, President/CEO" looking for tons of people to make a ton of money angle which will generate extreme eye rolling except from the completely unaware or perhaps the completely poor/desperate (the target market for most of the get rich at home schemes).
Had you initially posted here with your idea with no links to your site and also none of the WKRP Herb Tarlick sales methods you probably would have gotten much better responses including from me. I would have asked about your general business plan, how you plan to distinguish yourself from other leagues/freerolls, how you plan to attract players and earn money and provide benefits to your players and sponsors. These are basic questions anyone looking to invest in your company would ask.

I will not even comment too much on the name calling you used in some of your earlier posts other then at times it seemed that you were just flailing about for some type of insult that would land. Posting for forum bucks? I don't even know what that is supposed to mean since I registered here years ago and hardly have an insane number of posts (and what are forum bucks even used for :P).
How you flame me shows how you think and that flame shows you do not think things through in a logical, methodical manner, so as strange as it sounds I would be more inclined to invest with someone who if pushed managed to push back with some real wit and thought. I may not like it but at least I would know the person can think at a higher level.
Not much you can do to salvage it here. Consider when you approach other forums or groups to do it in a more honest way then with the I am a CEO come earn BIG BUCKS BIG BUCKS NO WHAMMIES! approach.
Also, if you do declare a conversation over - at least stop talking. True it is a silly, routine tactic, but declaring it over then responding a few minutes later shows an impulsive, emotional and short term thinking approach which again would concern as a potential investor.
