pokerstars against ranking sites

just curious what others think about this issue. obviously pokerstars received enough complaints to finally take action. i personally don't care if my stats are available online to whoever wants to see them (whether i'm a winning player or not). the big concern i noticed was that losing players don't want others to know that they're losing players since other players could use this to their advantage. nothing personal to those losing players, but i think a good player can tell if you suck by watching you play, i.e. they don't need to consult the stats databases.
at most i do understand fischman's complaint that it's his job and it's not really appropriate to go around posting people's salaries online. that being said, i'm not ashamed if my professional poker salary is published online. there are many successful people (i.e. rich people) who's salaries are open to the public if one so desires to locate them. not to mention, one could arguable just follow all the news stories about big cashes and have a decent idea about how much a certain person has won.
it is a privacy issue in some cases, but it's kind of hard to say that something you are doing publicly (i.e. playing poker online with many other people) deserves to be kept private. you can't argue that posting on a forum or playing a sporting event in front of many people is something that can be kept private afterwards.

It makes more sense for stars to offer the service themselves than to let these database collectors suck on thier bandwidth and contribute nothing.
I think it's a bigger issue for those in the US who get taxed on their winnings. Although they should report it, most don't report all of it. The IRS would easily be able to find out how much they've made playing poker. That would really suck.
Well not really...poker tracker is doing the work for you, and giving you information you would not be able to track your self with you a lot of work.
I don't think that it should be aloud, having never used it myself.
