NL Straddle ruling
Doesn't make too much difference but it got me thinking. This situation happened in a 1-2 NL Hold'em game, UTG straddles and next up wants to min. raise. Is the minimum raise $6 or $8?
I saw on high stakes poker this Monday (they play $300-$600 NL Hold'em) that the minimum raise after the $1,200 straddle was $2,400, so in this case it was 2x the straddle but the houseman at the casino I'm was playing in said it was $6 for the minimum. Anyone know what the correct ruling is? I'm leaning on the 2x the straddle myself since the room is pretty new and the houseman might have not known this kind of obscure ruling.

Raises are not based on "times" tables but by a specific amount...the amount of the previous bet or raise.
Not quite..
It's a raise, so if it's called around to him, he wouldn't have the option to jack it up again.

and yes...I re-re straddled all in.
Too many people just want to be like the big boys on TV.
well, first y'all takes yer cousin and giver her da moonshines, then ya pin 'er down...
If you're under the gun, you put in a min raise, declaring 'straddle' without looking at / before getting your cards. It essentially becomes a three blind game then. It means that it now costs 2xBB to call, and when it gets around to you again, you act as if you're the BB, meaning you have the option of checking / raising before we see a flop.

The following is a Mississippi Straddle. There are many, many Pokerforum.ca users who are intimately familiar.
