WSOP Chips

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can purchase the tournement chips used in the 2004 WSOP?

Wouldnt it be awesome to own one of those 5k black and yellow chips to use as a card weight.

  • no idea, would be cool though.
  • I've often wondered about this....could it confuse an opponent or the dealer in terms of how much money you have left? Wouldn't this be a poor idea in general - not exactly against the rules (as far as I know) but just the fact that it could lead to confusion .... imagine you push ALL IN but still have this chip in front of you.....maybe I'm just nitpicking.

I'm quite interested in what people have to say though, as I (stupidly) have 5 wicked-cool (IMHO) collector-chips from a trip to Laughlin with some buddies years ago. It was a special set with pictures of old west gunfighters on them...without really thinking about the economics, I "purchased" these souvenirs at the table and never cashed them in...just another way the casino has devised to separate you from your money. It worked on me (and I suspect several others)...I mean, if they were plain red and white chips, who cares, but these had PICTURES!! :)

What say ye - would my Doc Holiday chip or my Bat Masterson chip make a good card weight?
  • I often use a regular casino chip (whatever denomination I happen to have in my pocket) as my card cap when playing in a tournament (and the Casino Regina chips aren't particularily fancy) and no one has ever been confused by it.
  • the chips from the wsop are for sale but i swear they make more money from selling the chips then they do from addmin. fees you can find them at e bay or assorted chip collector sites for about $50 a single chip. You can get them in various denominations
