what do you think he has?

Haven't posted here in awhile, so I thought I would share a 2-5 hand with you.

Preface:

Game: LOOSE Table - 8 people to a flop
Limit: 2/5 Limit Hold'em
Casino: Brantford
My stack size: $120
My table image: Loose
Largest Stack: $400
Smallest Stack: $71

Dealt to me

8h 10h at the cut off

8 players see a flop of 7 7 9

6 players call the flop bets

turn comes an 8

SB check
UTG bets
call
call
call
call
SB check raises
6 players call including me, who now has a flush draw to go with my open ended straight draw

River is an 8

SB checks
UTG bets
fold
fold
fold
I Raise with 88877
SB calls my raise
UTG re-raises
I then announce, I guess were chopping, but let me raise again so that we can chop SB money. *jokingly*
SB folds and flips over 6 10 and say's bad river card
UTG then re-raises my $15 to $20
I go into the tank, because now i'm thinking pocket 77's? Pocket 99's?
I was going to call the bet regardless, but i'm thinking why the re-raise if we both have the 8's?

Anyone wanna guess what he had?

ANSWER IS IN WHITE BELOW THIS:
9 8

  • Why aren't you raising the flop with your OESFD? Paired board sort of sucks, but I'm still raising for value with a million limpers in between.
  • Here is a hand from $2-5 last night in Brantford...

    UTG Folds
    Call from old man.
    Fold
    Call
    Fold
    Fold
    Fold
    I raise with Kd Qd
    SB folds
    BB calls

    Flop Jd, 2s, 10d

    Old man checks
Check...(this guy refuses to bet on the river or raise when he has the nuts.)
    I bet $2
    BB folds.
    Old man calls
    The other player folds.

    Turn 6c

    Old man checks
    I bet $5
    Old man calls

    River 7s

    Old man checks
    I bet $5.
Old man says "I have to call"

He shows Ace high and takes down the pot. I say "great call" and call it a night down $50 after playing $10/20 for 3hrs and $2/5 for 2 hrs.

I have played $2/5 a couple tikmes before. It is virtually impossible to have an understanding what some people may have.

One guy whom I mentioned above had a nut straight on the turn and was last to act. He called the turn and checked the river. On another hand he rivered the flush heads up and checked while acting last. It was confusing to say the least.
