Casino Rama or Brantfod Charity Casino?

I'm looking to get away this weekend - looking mainly for 1/2 NL - which of these would be "better"? i.e.// fishier players, more crowded.

Comments

  • Brantford does not spread NL...So Rama will be your only option.
  • And for fishier 1/2, definitely Casino Niagara... tourist season.... mmmm
  • well that answers that - is casino niagara / fallsview another option for 1/2 NL - i live in Mississauga area ....and just looking for what would be closer / better competition (Fishier)
  • Tourist season, so probably Fallsview, but the 1/2NL 200 max at Rama isn't too bad.

I live in Brampton (410 and 7 area) and find the distance about the same to both Niagara and Rama.

I found Casino Niagara to be pretty damn fishy the last time I was there. From Missisauga it is worth the drive. I think both Casinos let you call ahead and put your name on the list... so that is a must. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about Rama, Niagara let me do it a few weeks ago.
  • Rama doesn't allow call-ins except for Rama Hotel guests. I go to both, they each have their advantages.

CN has more 1/2 than FV, CN is pretty comparable to Rama ie rake instead of session, lower food prices than FV.

Charges for places that offer 1/2NL:

    Underground casinos (varies between 5% rake max $3 -> 10% rake up to $5 + $1 at $70, +$1 at $100 + $1 jackpot)
    Seneca $3 on the flop, $1 at $40, $1 at 50, + $1 jackpot (yuck)
Fallsview $5 per half hour session fee.
    CN 1/2NL 10% rake Max $5 , $100 max buyin = 50Big blinds
    Rama 1/2NL 10% rake Max $5 $200 Max buyin = 100 big blinds...

I'd rather go to Rama than Casino Niagara. since the starting stacks are twice as big which will mean more postflop play.
Much more post flop play=Bigger advantage to experts with postflop skill.
I'm not sure what the minimum buyin for Rama is but the min buyin for CN is just $40=20 big blinds

People say the downtown clubs do 10%, $7 max + $1 jackpot ($6 @ $60, $7 @ $70, + $1 jackpot). Plus 1 DT club claims to not take anything for the jackpot, that it's '$1000 free $' yet many times they've overraked. Beware of these 'clubs', some shady things go on at some of them.
