  • What a waste. WPT online could have been making WAY more than they are and could have been a lot more sucessful than they are. WPT enterprises waited about 2 years too late to launch their site and by that time all of the onlie market share was already taken by the big boys like Poker Stars and Party Poker. I was so excited when I heard that they were coming out with a site....but they took so long that everyone else already capitalized on the idea of offering online qualifiers to the big WPT tournaments. Now I just play on Pokerroom or Stars and I can qualify for any big tournament....so why go to WPT online?? For instance, Pokerroom is offering qualifiers for the WPT Legends tourney AND the Europe WSOP right now and they're so good that there is no reason to play any where else.
  • is possible to clear all 1500bonus at micro stake?
i clear $20 at fulltilt every 4 days at 10NL
    i clear $10 at mansion every 2 days 20NL
what's the max of bonus i can clear in 3 month, playing the lowest stake?
  • sorry chuckie i am not sure, probably not, i think you have to play a hell of a lot to clear that bonus.
  • You're better off playing at another crypto site, most of which give you $200 bonus for 1000 MPPs every month (WPT requires 1100 MPPs). Plus, you can get rakeback at the most of the cryptos: Interpoker, Sun Poker, PokerPlex are the ones I whore at.

Is this advice still corrrect for the WPT site?
  • Depends on why you want to play there. There is a good promo to get a wpt seat, but if you plan to just play a lot of cash games there, might as welll go with a rakebacked site (inter/sun, plex etc)
  • Does anybody know of any good deposit promotions with WorldPokerTour.com? I was thinking of making a deposit using 2+2's bonus books' program but it seems extremely difficult to get enough qualifying points without having to deposit a lot of money.

  • What levels are you planning on playing? How many points do you need to earn to complete that 2+2 promo? I would say in the past 4 tabling 1/2nl would earn approximately 100mpp per hour if you want to use that as a guideline. From what i've heard, its probably slower than that right now as games are super tight. Still worth it if you're going for the wpt seat. I'm not doing it this month, but might next month.
  • Thanks for the reply. You have to deposit at least $20, but you have to earn 100 MPPs. WPT also has the standard "100% up to $100 First Time Match Deposit", but you have to earn 1,000 MPPs. From my understanding of the MPP system, WPT looks like one of the harder sites to clear a bonus for small stakes online players.

Have you bothered playing the WPT freerolls? I will check out Everest next.

Standard Crypto bonus is 8x, ie sunpoker, so yeah definately tougher. I haven't played any of these ones yet as they run on the last day of the month during the day. Last couple have been on weekdays, and this one falls on a day I wont be around. I played in one last year, and lost headsup for a seat. :(

Everest caters to the Europeans so most of the good stuff happens during the weekdays as well.

It is possible if it was one of the poker sites that decided spamming poker forums is a good method to promote their room.
  • disregard post, cant delete
  • In case anybody else besides me is still playing on WorldPokerTour.com, it looks like the WPT will be pulling out of the online gambling business soon. After I won first place in a freeroll with over 2,000 players, I was looking around the WPT site, but many of its gambling pages are now dead. I clicked on "Poker Room" and it is promoting four other sites instead of its own.

"Company will no longer operate the WPT-branded online gaming website on the Cryptologic network after November 14th, 2008."

What usually happens to your funds if a poker room closes? Should I withdraw my balance back to my credit card ASAP?
  • hey blondefish and guys!!!!!!

yes get your money off of there ASAP........, i have withdrawn mine 2 weeks ago, better safe then sorry, looks like the big rumour has come true, their was word the whole network, crypto has partnered with partypoker!!!!!!!!!!, not sure all the details and how all this merge will go down and if some of crypto games will be offered on partypoker, rumour has it partygaming needed to expand as it was not doing well itself.

CryptoLogic and PartyGaming May Pool Online Poker Businesses

    by PokerPages.com
Tue, Oct 21st, 2008 @ 12:00am CryptoLogic Limited, a leading gaming software developer, announced yesterday that it is in "detailed discussions with another major poker network," which the Financial Times (FT) today revealed is PartyGaming, owner of PartyPoker. Apparently the two companies are talking about pooling their poker businesses to save costs, as both companies fight to maintain their positions in the online gambling industry.
Last Friday, Dublin Ireland-based Cryptologic got word from WPT Enterprises Inc. that real-money online poker site WorldPokerTour.com would close as of Nov. 14, 2008. In addition, FT pointed out that Cryptologic, lost licensee William Hill to rival Playtech, so the gaming company likely sought to partner with PartyGaming to soften the loss.
Gibraltar-based PartyGaming's online poker market share has fallen from 40 per cent to roughly 8.5 per cent in the past two years after it exited the large and lucrative US market following October 2006 passage of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
CryptoLogic's self-proclaimed goal is to reduce annual operating expenses by $12m-$15m, and would build its new strategy around casino licensing, its most profitable business, offering its leading games to other gaming operators and developing branded content. Cryptologic already announced a five-year licensing agreement of casino games to PartyGaming yesterday, as well as an earlier announcement to provide casino games to 888.com (Pacific Poker owner).
In their strategy announcement yesterday, Cryptologic also said it "will continue to develop its business and manage its recent investments and new relationships in China, Korea and Singapore to achieve long-term growth" as evidenced by the May 2008 agreement to supply India-based Khel Galli, one of South Asia's fast growing online gaming companies, with online poker and casino offerings (click here for related article).

Jim Ryan, PartyGaming chief executive, said CryptoLogic content would enhance its market-leading position. Brian Hadfield, his counterpart at CryptoLogic, said PartyGaming was one of its biggest customer deals "and an endorsement of the branded games element of our new strategy".
CryptoLogic management will provide full details about the company's strategy and 2009 outlook on the occasion of the company's Q3 earnings announcement in mid-November.
CryptoLogic's common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (CRY, CXY), the NASDAQ Global Select Market (CRYP) and the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange (CRP).

  • I just noticed that I got a cheque last week from ECash Direct and the "Cyprus Popular Bank." Did your cheque go through already? I never made a deposit at WPT.com, but won several freerolls, including first place in a 1,000+ person tournament.
