Hi, I know it's probably been listed before.

I am going to be in Ontario for a couple of weeks in July, and a buddy of mine and I wanted to make a road trip for some low buy in tourney's. 50 bucks or so. Does Windsor run a daily, and if so what is the buy in and structure.

I could just check the website, but I was hoping I could get some feedback from people who have played them before. In terms of value, starting chips, skill level etc.

Casino Windsor has fast tournaments Monday-Friday morning, $110 buy-in, with 2000 starting chips. The Patience Factor is only 2.93 and the Skill Level is only 1, i.e., you get very little poker play before you get blinded out. It has a $500+50 tournament on the last Friday of each month, with a Skill Level of 5 and a Patience Factor of 9.22.

A better daily tournament is in Greektown Casino in Detroit, which is about 20 minutes from Windsor. The buy-in is U$100+25, Monday-Thursday morning, 3000 chips, 30-minute blinds. The rake of 20% is high, but the Skill Level is 5 and the BlondeFish Factor, I mean Patience Factor is 7.68.

I haven't found anybody to go with to try these tournaments myself yet, so be sure to go to their websites and phone them to verify the above information.

actually the $110 are only Monday and Friday and they run the $60 tuesday, wednesday, thursday. They cap the field at 70 players.

SHOCKED to hear someone state that Greektown's tourney is a better buy than Windsor, lol.

A. Greektown charges 25% juice rather than 10%
B. Yes, you get 3k starting chips.......however...blinds ''double'' all the way thru, which means you have ONE move at the final table.
C. Check Casino Player magazine, We (Casino Windsor) was voted #1 Daily Poker tournaments in the area by their readers.

To answer the above original question:

Tues, Wed, Thurs are $50+$5 buy in.
Fri-Mon are $100+$10 buy in.

ALL days are capped at 60 players.......Sat/Sun/Mon tourneys are very slow, sometimes only 2 tables.

Starting chips are $2000 and blind levels are 20 minutes for 3 levels then 30 minutes the rest of the way through. Tourneys usually last approximately 4 hours, which is pretty good IMO for a 'daily' type tourney to get players through the door.

but Windsor is my home card room.....I gotta give the edge to them.
