No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament
Wednesday, Sept 15th - 7:00pm

(doors open at 6:30)

$10 Buy-in
(with one $10 rebuy in the first hour if you drop below 200 chips)
$$$ Pay-out $$$
1st place - 50%
2nd place - 25%
3rd place - 15%
4th place - 10%
(If we get above 20 players, we'll use a 45/25/15/10/5 split.)

Each player will receive 1000 chips for their $10 buyin. You are eliminated from the tourney when you lose all your chips. The tourney will not stop, except for short breaks, until one player holds all the chips. That player will be declared the 1st place finisher. The last player eliminated will be the 2nd place finisher, the second last player eliminated will be the 3rd place finisher, etc..

During the first hour of the tourney you may 'rebuy' into the tourney (pay another $10 and receive another 1000 chips) if you fall below 1000 chips. You must rebuy before the first hand of the third blinds level is dealt. Only one rebuy per player per tourney.

Late players: If you have reserved a seat but do not show up in time, your seat will be given to someone else on the waiting list. If you notify me ahead of time that you'll be late, you'll be assigned chips and a seat and the dealer will post blinds and fold hands in your absense. If you do not show up by the time you tell me, your chips will be sent back to the bank. (My recommendation is to be no more than 40 minutes late as the blinds will start climbing dramatically after this level)

The tournament will last approximately 4 hours. Seating is limited to 24 players, and tables will be 8-max.

Blind schedule, chip values, rules, etc, etc, will be posted at my place. Please RSVP to me to reserve your seat!

  • (Sorry about the large amount of blank space in the message above. I can't see to get rid of it.)
  • This seems like a good time to bring up a glitch in this 'V-bulletin' system, then. Sometimes (but not always) it puts a whole bunch of spaces where you only put one. The way to correct this (if it bothers you) is to preview your post, and see where the excess spacing is.

Let's say there were 2 or 3 spaces between the last paragraph and this one. To fix it, I'd have to put the cursor immediately after the period at the end of 'excess spacing is.' Then I'd press 'delete' until it ate up all the spaces, and until the 'L' in 'Let's' was snugged up right against the period. Then I'd have to press enter twice, once to start a new paragraph, and once to put a space in between them.

Like I said, it doesn't happen every time, but it drives me up the wall. From seeing other people's posts with excess spacing, I see I'm not the only one. Does anybody know how to fix this, or is it a glitch in V-bulletin's coding?

    Thanks,

  • Hi. I am from Waterloo also and found out about your tournaments from the "Forum:
Any spots left for Sept 15 ?
If not, how about the next one ?
    Thanks
  • Dunno if you got my PM Zithal, but please RSVP for myself and alex_844
  • Hey everyone,

We're currently at capacity with one person on the waiting list (I'm expecting two or three seats to free up before everything begins tonight) Pokerforum.ca is well represented tonight, so good luck to everyone and I'll see you tonight!!

(p.s. One minor rule change for this evening...

    1) The clock will stop if there's any rulings that need to be made. (This is to prevent me from wasting my table's time when I'm needed elsewhere) I'll also have a copy of a rules booklet for each table which lists the most common dealer errors.)
  • Looking forward to it as usual...nice avatar! LOL.

  • Zithal,

I have a conference call at 6:00, I don't expect it to make me late, but I may not get there until 6:50.

I will be there and my $ will be there.

    Thanks
