In your estimation, who is the strongest female tournament player?

I'm curious to see if we get anything besides the standard "jen harman"

online=annette_15?

(please don't give me a reason to go into my female-poker-player tirade..I will. Creating this thread is much more passive option)

    According to Barry Greenstein ...

Jen Harmon is the only female to be a regular playing the big game.

She doesn't concentrate on Tournaments she concentrates on the side games because that's where the money is. She says tournament money is insignificant compared to side game action.
  • Answer is obvious here:

I also understand that she has a pretty interesting staking agreement.
  • Clonie Gowan and Isabella Mercier, both solid tourney players, but I don't know if they concentrated on tourneys or do side games as well.
  • My strongest tournament women poker player would have to be
Kathy Liebert, she is strong when it comes to tournaments and is the first ever female to win 1 000 000 in a tournament prize 1st place :)

    Just my opinion

    tit for tat ROFLMAO
    Capt.Tom and/or Sklansky

    "It's Sexy Time!!!"
  • For tournaments I'd imagine Annette is as good as any of them. I've heard Jen Harman just plays super tight and isn't that strong a tournament player but I can't say first hand. In general I don't have a lot of respect for live players though so Annette may well be the best.
  • The first female poker player I ever heard of was Annie Duke, and she does have a WSOP bracelet. It seems to me that you see Kathy Liebert late in many tournaments.
  • I'd have to say that Kathy Liebert has got to be a strong contender - she's certainly one of the few women to be consistently near the top of the various "power rankings" in poker mags that use tournament results as a basis.

Jen Harman has said herself that she's not the best tournament player (I believe on Poker After Dark I heard her say she sucks at NL tournaments).

I'm also curious to see how Sabyl Cohen does in this year's WSOP events. She was the last woman standing last year (she finished around 50-60th?). I heard she made a great run in the first event this year, but she didn't make the final table....so I'm not sure where she ended up.

Kristy Gazes had some good finishes late last year....but I think she stopped playing as much as she used to and is now a trader in Australia..?

    yup.. kathy leibert

(I don't watch poker on TV so I can't comment on anything other than KW poker)

  • The more I read the 2+2 MTT forums, the more I'm convinced these young guys are the future 'name' players of tournament poker. Look at sbrugby in cash games. I see no reason why Women player's are any different. Annette and likely other online players who haven't identified themselves as female players are likely far better than those you see on tv.

As an aside, please don't respond as I don't want to hijack Kristy's thread, I'm surprised you guys who know Sir Watts personally don't pick his brain a lot more about mtt strategy

    your no fun :(

    lol
  • Kathy Liebert is by far the best female tournament player. She ranked 9th overall in Bluff's Power Ranking.

She has a 2nd place finished in the 2007 WPT $2000 World Championships
event and finished 2nd in 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic as well.

    This girl can play.

see! who was right someone else agreeeees!

she has a bracelet to.. :P
  • I would say after talking to AcidJoe. He of course asked good or good looking. *typical male*.. lol

But after talking about it. Isabel Merci, comes to the top ..

Of course I personnaly Like Annie Duke, But have n ot really heard much of her lately.

Jen Harman, would be the natual pick dew to the fact that you see you all the time. Anytime you turn on any poker games on tv, out of the women players you see her the most.

    just my opinion..
  • which female has the most cash at the WSOP?

    I'm thinking Cindy Violette

    she finished 3rd in the
    2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud High-Low event

I had no idea who that was, but found out today that it's Brandi Hawbaker who's the daughter of Sklansky. She's cute!
