Any recommendations on where to play and stay in AC?
Yo,
We're planning a trip to Atlantic City at the end of March, and I'm trying to finalize hotel reservations and other necessary arrangements.
Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with any of the hotels there? I think our preference is to spend as little as possible (as most of our time will be spent at the fine card rooms there and not in the hotel room).
We'll be there 2 days, so to avoid wasting great amounts of time casino hopping, does anyone have any recommendations as to which card rooms to try out? Most of us will be playing low limit HE, but might mix in some other flavours of poker as we see them... There may be some interest in some low buy-in tournaments as well. (under $100)
hork.

we're leaving Friday, let's hear all those AC reports!
Can't say anything about the card room though, they didn't have one set up when I went. Sorry.
how far a drive is AC from toronto?
I strongly suggest borgata if your goal is simply to play poker. But if your looking for a place to play, get a cheap room, and get paid for your play, Taj Mahal is probably a better value. The poker rate is $65, and you get paid from $1 to $4 for every hour you play which can be used towards food - the buffet specifically (or possibly your room, although i didnt try that)
1. alcohol is free...well aside from the waitress tip...so drink up
2. you have to be in the actual room when they call your name from the list...and you get maybe 5 mins to speak up...so no wandering the casino waiting
3. get a rating card right away, if you spend a decent chunk of time at the table, you can get some free meals
4. time pots seem like the norm
5. the borgata buffet is pretty good, the taj buffet...not so good
