    APPLE INC has began selling music free of anti-copying software at its iTunes online store, stripping away copyright protection lambasted by the company's iconic chief executive. Apple launched iTunes Plus with a menu of EMI Group music including songs from Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, and Paul McCartney. Songs cost US$1.29 each, 30 cents more than standard iTunes offerings, but are "virtually indistinguishable from original recordings" and aren't fettered by Digital Rights Management (DRM) software that blocks copying, Apple said.
